'Good Morning Mr. Taoiseach'

Good morning! Mr. Taoiseach, I hope this finds you well.
I have some questions for you and the truth I pray you'll tell.
Is it true that truth and honesty is valued in your life?
Is it true that you love Ireland and you want to see Her thrive?
These questions I seek answers to concern my country's youth.
Is the truth of our starvation Sir, a subject that's taboo?
Do the teachers in our classrooms our young ones disregard? Do they merely teach,"there was no spud" and a million people starved?
Why do we fail to teach them of our shipped Cromwellian slaves.
of the cattle, sheep, the corn and wheat shipped out across the wave?
They know not of Barbados nor the Montserrat of chains
nor the shiploads of our orphan girls to colonists depraved.
I asked some children just today, about Án Ocrás Mór,
surprised was I when they replied, "We've not heard that before!"
I asked them then just what they learned of 'famine' from their schools,
they answered, "just a little bit, there's not much in our books"
I asked them too of coffin ships, evictions, knocked down doors,
of Ireland's dead on hillsides, and Her dead in ditch and moor.
I asked an angry teacher why she starves these precious brains,
She told me, "mind your business" and that teachers weren't to blame
I asked our politicians to stand and preach the truth,
to expose this monstrous scandal that is censored in our books.
When no answers were forthcoming, to the President I wrote,
a few months later he replied, with a courteous little note.
Thanking me for my concerns, he told me true and straight,
'Twas not for him to interfere in matters of the State.
I sensed he was complicit in an exercise of lies
to see a people's history is airbrushed from their lives
I tell you Mr. Taoiseách, say this before I go,
'tis the duty of a government the truth to all bestow.
Revisionist and liar have betrayed this Land and State,
each day they twist our history with lies and false debate.
'Tis surely time an honest man deprived you of the reins,
'tis time our children learned the truth, for truth is Ireland's gain.

Irish Holocaust - Not Famine. The Push to educate in facts.
We can now prove beyond doubt that more food than was required to feed the Irish people during the period (1845-1850), was exported out of Irish ports under armed guard.
This is not a petition of Acrimony, Discord or Hate, this is a petition for Truth!
Please sign with your family, and ask your friends and their families to consider.
