Emerald Outdoors Emerald Outdoors offer relaxing guided tours of Kenmare bay. Jamie has recently returned from several years teaching kayaking in Uganda and Nepal.

Explore the hidden beauty of the bay by day or wonder at sparking bioluminescence by night; their experienced guides will help you get closer to nature in an eco-friendly kayak. Emerald outdoors is owned and run by two friends, Colin and Jamie, who met whilst working as kayak guides on the river Nile in Uganda. Both have worked as white water kayak coaches around the world and they have over 22 ye

ars coaching and guiding experience between them. Colin is back from an epic expedition, in which he provided rescue cover whilst also becoming one of the first people to kayak more than 2000km of the Arabian gulf, from Kuwait to Oman.

Did you know that all our staff are Garda vetted, first aid trained, child protection trained and have trained for over 2 years to be able to safely take our clients on the water. All our guides are a minimum of a level 2 instructor and are in the process of becoming level 3 instructors.

I’d like to introduce you to Hailing from Corca Dhuibhne and a graduate of Cappanalea OETC, Eamon found his passion in sea kayaking. He has been a guide at Emerald Outdoors since 2018. He believes his office has the best views and if he were to ever dream about work, then Emerald would be his dream job.
