The Yew Tree at Muckross Abbey ☘️

Tucked away within the stunning grounds of Muckross Abbey in Killarney National Park, County Kerry, stands an ancient yew tree steeped in history and mystique.

This venerable tree is estimated to be over 500 years old, its gnarled branches twisted by the passage of time. Legend has it that the yew tree was planted by the monks who founded the abbey in the 15th century.

We had a fantastic stay at Killaran House Killarney ☘️

If you’re looking for a beautiful and well located place to stay in Killarney check out Killaran House!

Breda was absolutely fantastic with amazing service including a basket of all you might need on the landing (converters/chargers/shampoos etc), a coffee/tea bar in the hall outside the rooms and our mouths are still watering after her delicious breakfast!

We’ll definitely be back 😊

What a morning we had in Blacksod, Co. Mayo with Bill and Liz from really great tours ☘️

Bills knowledge of the history and geography of the area is unmatched 👏

Starting on the pier, our private walking tour wandered inwards where every question was answered and lots of stories were told. From the history of the locals to the history of those who emigrated and the meteorology of the old weather station to the building of the lighthouse, we heard/learned it all.
