Glencar Waterfall in County Leitrim is a MUST DO ☘️

Some other local things to do and see when you’re heading up to Glencar from the Lodge:

- Devils Chimney Forest Walk and Waterfall

- Gleniff Horseshoe Drive
- Mullaghmore Head
- Classiebawn Castle
- Sligo Abbey

Glencar Waterfall is a stunning natural feature located in County Leitrim, Ireland. It is nestled in the picturesque Glencar Valley, near the village of Glencar, and is part of the Glencar Lake area. The waterfall is known for its beauty, especially during the wetter months, when it cascades down from a height of about 15 meters (49 feet) into a serene pool below.

The area around the waterfall is lush and wooded, making it a great spot for nature walks and photography. The waterfall gained additional fame when it was mentioned in W.B. Yeats' poem The Stolen Child, adding to its cultural significance.

One of Grace O’Malleys Towerhouses!

It's hard not to feel a sense of isolation when gazing at Grace O'Malley's Towerhouse from above, a lonely sentinel on Achill Island, once teeming with tales of piracy and power. 🏰🌊 But even in its solitude, it stands as a proud reminder of Ireland's rich history.

Welcome to Woolly Alpaca Wonders!
Our name is inspired by the stunning Wild Atlantic Way, where we're based, but with an alpaca twist.

We're in the early stages, but we have lots of plans. Soon, we'll be offering walks with our alpacas. It's a great chance for you to meet them and see their personalities up close.

I also love to crochet, and am planning to use the soft fleece from our alpacas to make things like scarves, blankets, and hats. Everything will be made by hand.

Believe it or not, alpaca poo is pretty valuable too! We'll be exploring all the ways we can make the most out of our alpacas.

So, come join us on our journey. We're excited to share our alpaca adventures with you here at Woolly Alpaca Wonders.
