An interesting account of Tomás Rua ó Súilleabháin a teacher who lived here on the hillside between Caherdaniel, and Waterville. He died during the great famine, and was a good friend of Daniel ó Connell.

Mainistir Mhucrois........Muckross Abbey built nearly six hundred years ago, and still in very good condition. Situated just 5km from Killarney town in the National Park.

Cloch Mac Cudda within 15 minutes walk from St. Mary's Cathedral where the monk from Inisfaithleann slept for two hundred years, after following a bird whose enchanted music enticed him leave his island monastery.

Caisleán an Rois ......a lovely area to walk around the 15th century Ross Castle on the shores of Loch Léin. The fishing season is open so you might get a salmon or trout to come to dinner.
