Cracking day at sea today and the fishing didn't disappoint either.

Mackerel were scarce at Owey and the Stags though there was enough for bait at least.

Taking advantage of the fine weather, the anglers from Letterkenny fancied a go at some offshore marks for Bluemouth which were plentiful.
A long drift mainly on sand produced all the Gurnards, Whiting, Haddock, Megrim, Ling and Spurdog with some good Po***ck, Coalie and Cuckoo Wrasse while crossing the peaks.
Overall 14 varieties of fish on board with 3 anglers catching 10 varieties each.

Congratulations to Eugene McLaughlin on catching the fish of the day, a specimen Red Gurnard measuring just over 45cm.
There was a certain specimen Spurdog almost landed, just escaping close to the surface.

Great to see Davy, Paddy and Eugene returning to enjoy their days fishing after a brief layup and a pleasure having John on board for fish weighing and measuring.

Always a good days banter with the Letterkenny lads with everyone on board requiring an extra thick layer of skin 🙂.

A pleasure having anglers from Kingfishers Béal Feirste on board at the weekend for some great species fishing.

The fish of the day, a near specimen Tub Gurnard weighing 4lb and measuring 58cm.

Overall plenty varieties of fish including Mackerel, Sand Eel, Po***ck, Coalie, Ling, Whiting, Haddock, Cuckoo Wrasse, Bluemouth, Red, Grey and Tub Gurnards, Megrim, Spurdog and Poor Cod.

Thanks lads for a great trip.

Early start this morning, completing the journey from Downings to Kincasslagh after an exciting week chartering for the World Boat u21 Angling Championships.

To break up the journey a stop at the Tory Island Hotel was in order for some good food and a bed for the night.

Delighted to be invited to provide boat charter for the World u21 Boat Angling Championships hosted by Lough Swilly Junior Sea Angling Club in Downings this week where some of the world's top anglers will fish on board MV Caitlín Marie and other Donegal charter boats.

It's going to be an exciting few days with lines down in 10 minutes.
