Pastimes - How did Viking Age Women spend their time ?
Presented by Léine Medieval Crafters
Date: Saturday 24th of August
11am to 4pm
Venue: Copper Coast Geopark Centre, Bunmahon
Léine Medieval Crafters would like to share with you many of the textile crafts that were an important part of Norse women’s lives a thousand years ago, when Waterford was a Viking settlement.
Spinning and weaving, naalbinding and sewing were all essential skills to produce clothing, home wares and sails for adventuring long ships.
Come and talk with us and we will tell you about how our clothing was made, and show you the tools and skills needed to create them in past times.
