We had a wonderful evening last Saturday night with Sean Keane, a celebrated traditional Irish musician renowned for his powerful vocals. With over 30 years in the music industry, Sean has captivated audiences around the world, performing with legends such as The Chieftains and Lรบnasa, and releasing multiple critically acclaimed albums that showcase his deep connection to Irish culture.
As we sailed out from Nancy's Point, the Connemara Lady was filled with enchanting music and captivating stories from this incredible musician. A capacity crowd enjoyed the warm hospitality aboard, creating a memorable atmosphere that resonated with the spirit of the West of Ireland.
Crew member Declan also graced us with a few songs, and, as always, these performances were hugely appreciated by the audience, adding a personal touch to the evening.
We continue sailing daily until the end of September, departing Nancy's Point at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM. With the barometer set fair for the coming week, there's no better time to marvel at the awe-inspiring scenery of the Killary Fjord in all her autumnal colours.

Today, we welcomed numerous small craft, known as RIBs, on Killary Fjord as they made a slight detour during the Inisboffin charity rib run.
A RIB, or rigid inflatable boat, combines a traditional rigid hull with an inflatable collar. This design makes the boat stable, light, fast, and seaworthy. The inflatable collar functions like a life jacket, ensuring the vessel remains buoyant even if it takes on water.

Our friends, the resident pod of Bottlenose Dolphins, joined the Connemara Lady once again this morning, racing the bow waves and putting on a great show for our passengers.
Below decks, our crew can often hear the dolphins before they appear. They (the dolphins, not our staff!) communicate with a series of clicks and whistles which also double up as a very sensitive sonar system, allowing them to navigate and locate food.
Scientists have proven that dolphins actually give themselves names! A dolphin will use a custom set of whistles to refer to itself. Researchers have been able to mimic these sounds using computers and observe the dolphins responding to their own names, and those of their pod mates.
Book your cruise today at www.killaryfjord.com and maybe you too will be able to observe these incredible animals.
