Set on the Dromoland castle 450-acre estate, Dromoland Castle Golf Club is an impressive parkland course which combines gentle hills, ancient trees and unexpected water hazards to deliver an entertaining and challenging course, with the stunning baronial castle as a backdrop on several holes. Designed by internationally renowned Ron Kirby and JB Carr, the championship course plays over 6,824 yards for men and 5,242 for ladies, presenting an enjoyable challenge to both amateurs and professionals. It has been said that there was controversy over the 18th at Dromoland Golf Club, a Par 5 which boasts of large Cedar Tree in the middle of the fairway, about 120 yards from the green. Whether you love or hate it, It invariably causes great difficulty in positioning the 2nd shot towards the raised green with the beautiful lake on the right and the Castle to the left.

Golf course of the week is Ballykisteen Golf Club. Nestled in the heart of the Golden Vale, this golf course, designed by Des Smyth, with amazing holes using the natural contours of the land with an abundance of bunkers and water hazards feature on 11 holes. Their signature hole at 6 as stated by Des is "probably the most difficult in the country; 230 yards from the back elevated tee to a green surrounded by water on three sides and out of bounds on the left, nothing but a perfect golf shot will do".
