They were from Donegal so they had to be gorgeous. Of course I might just be a bit biased as Donegal is my favourite county to tour in.

Áille ar Airgead follows the lives of two remarkable women, one who was born in Donegal, who became the face of America’s ten dollar gold coin and the other, born in the USA, graced the first banknote of a newly independent Ireland. People carried their images around for years; they tre...

Our first lecture of the year will be entitled ‘Signs of the Times: Shop Fronts and Lettering in Longford’ by Dr Edward McParland. It takes place on Wednesday, 12 February at 8 pm in Teallach Íosa, St Mel’s Road, Longford. The lecture promises to be a very informative examination of parts of our towns that we often take for granted.

Dr Edward McParland is one of Ireland’s best known architectural historians. He studied in UCD and Cambridge University, and lectured in Trinity College Dublin from 1973 until his retirement in 2008. He has written numerous books and articles, and is an expert on the life of James Gandon.

The Importance of Insured Tourist Guides👇

It is the duty of tourist guides to place the client at the centre of the experience and provide them with the best experience suited to their needs. Tourist guides play a vital role in ensuring that clients get the tour they paid for and that everything goes to plan.

However, even with the best leadership and planning, accidents and loss can occur and all ATGI guides have full public liability insurance, for the rare scenario that a client claims for expenses incurred during the tour.

This cover is only available through ATGI to qualified and certified guides.

Why is this important to our clients?
1. Professionalism: Our fully insured tourist guides undergo training and certification processes, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate through the different types of tours on offer around Ireland. Their expertise enhances the overall travel experience for clients coming to Ireland.
2. Safety: Travelling, wherever it may be, involves some level of risk. Whether it’s navigating unfamiliar terrain or encountering unexpected challenges, our guides are expected to always prioritise the safety of the clients at every turn.
3. Peace of mind: with fully insured tourist guides, clients can embark on their tours with confidence knowing that they are in capable hands. In the unlikely circumstance that something should go wrong, ATGI insurance coverage offers financial protection.

Every visitor to Ireland should be confident that they are being looked after to the highest standards. Let’s continue to promote qualified and insured guides to ensure a bright future of tourism in Ireland! 🇮🇪

The more I often I visit Cork the more I love it although the narrow hilly treets can be challenging.

39 years ago today 🎂 On October 25th 1985, the first commercial flights arrived and departed from the runway at Knock Airport ✈️

As three Aer Lingus planes departed for Rome, crowds cheered the success of Monsignor Horan's vision and belief at what was a historic occasion. All these years later the airport is delighted to continue to welcome passengers travelling to and from the West, North West & Midlands regions of Ireland every day ✈️❤️
