It will be the first of 22 similar facilities in Irelandđź‘Ź

Construction has begun on a state-of-the-art water sports facility at Acres Lake. The facility will feature hot showers, changing rooms, toilets, storage, and equipment washdown areas. It will also be fully accessible and include solar panels for sustainable energy. This project is part of the Shannon Blueway development and aims to boost outdoor tourism in Leitrim.

"The development of the Shannon Blueway and Acres Lake has acted as a catalyst for opening many enterprises in the area. This has led to a significant increase in people enjoying outdoor water-based activities such as kayaking, surfing, paddleboarding, and angling” said Cllr. Paddy O’Rourke.
