This truly special 5 kilometre walking experience through The Lost Valley offers a unique window into the cultural heritage of the west of Ireland.

Suitable for all ages, prepare for breath-taking scenery from pristine sandy beaches to waterfalls and from woods on the slopes of Mweelrea (the highest mountain in Western Ireland) to unique views of Irelands only fjord (Killary).

The Lost Valley has remained largely untouched since the great famine of the mid 1800’s. The lives that belonged to these people can be seen in the tumbled down walls of their cabins and the multitude of potato plots that they left behind.

This is both a modern day adventure and an historic story that is beautifully told by Gerard and Maureen Bourke whose DNA are very much part of the Lost Valley where their family have lived and farmed for over three centuries.
