You might not realize it from the current unseasonable views from the wheelhouse, but our peak summer season is fast approaching. Don't worry, we have reliable information that good weather is on the way. This means that in addition to our 10:30, 12:30, and 14:30 tours, we will also be resuming our always popular 16:00 sailings.

The 16:00 sailings always have a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. With the sun high in the sky, it's the perfect time to unwind with a drink at our well-stocked cafe bar.

The phrase "sun above the yardarm" is a traditional nautical saying indicating it's time for an afternoon drink. In northern latitudes, the sun would typically be above the foreyard of a ship by 11:00 AM, around the time many navy ships had their forenoon ‘stand-easy,’ when officers would enjoy their first grog rations of the day!

Our crew, of course, are the exception to this old rule. They are always on hand to make you feel welcome and to explain any of the fascinating sights you may encounter on the Fjord.

A Mayo monument worth visiting is The Dolmen of The Four Maols located on Primrose Hill in Ballina. Guaire Aidne mac Colmáin was King of Connacht in the 7th century and murdered by his brothers. The brothers remains are supposedly buried at this dolmen.
