“Making Waves for Jo” is a fundraiser in memory of Jo English, a truly remarkable woman known for her infectious smile, endless energy, and love for the sea.
Jo tragically passed away from pancreatic cancer in April 2024, just eight weeks after her diagnosis.
To honor Jo’s legacy, we’re coming together for a sea dip at her favorite beach, Cuskinny in Cobh, Co. Cork, on Saturday 12th April 2025 at 4pm.
This event celebrates her adventurous spirit, her deep connection to the ocean, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Who We’re Supporting:
Funds raised will support RNLI and Marymount Hospice, two incredible organizations that desperately need support to continue their life-saving and life-changing work.
* RNLI provides essential search-and-rescue services, saving lives at sea—work that Jo, with her deep love for the ocean, was deeply passionate about. Their crews rely heavily on donations to keep their boats equipped and ready to respond to emergencies.
* Marymount Hospice offers compassionate end-of-life care to individuals and families during their most difficult moments. They provided extraordinary care for Jo and her loved ones, and their work depends on the generosity of people like you.
Why We Need Your Help:
Both charities make a profound difference in people’s lives, but they cannot do it without the support of their communities. By donating, you’ll help RNLI continue to save lives and Marymount provide comfort and dignity to those in need.
Jo brought light, joy, and inspiration to so many lives, and this is our chance to honor her memory while helping these vital organizations continue their work.
