Ssssh ! Can we let you know a secret ?

Someone is writing a book about us !

But he is terrible at drawing , so we need Tiny Hoomanz to help illustrate the stories.

There will be a competition announced soon for all primary school Tiny Hoomanz in Monaghan , for the first three stories.

There will be prizes and the winners will have their illustrations published in the book.

Details will follow next week.........

We need your stories Tiny Hoomanz !

As part of this years inaugural 'Drumlin Storytelling Festival' we are having a free family event on Saturday 21st September out in Rossmore Park where I will tell some of the history of the Giants and how I came up with the story about Muireann and Juan McKenna.
As part of this event we would like to involve you in a story writing competition. It's open to any age in primary school, and we will select three stories to receive a prize and will also ask the kids to read these stories as part of our event, although , if they're too nervous, we can read them out for them.
The only criteria is that the story can only be 333 words long , and must begin :
"A large yellow digger was clearing a space in Rossmore Park for the new playground when it hit something metal. When they dug around it they saw that it was a Giant Robot, which seemed to be hundreds of years old, and clasped in it's hand was a large golden key....."
The stories would need to be completed by September 13th. They can either be emailed to me, or messaged through here.
Oh, and as the story about Muireann involves water, there is a very, very, very good chance that there will be a water balloon fight at the end of our storytelling event on the 21st...so don't wear good clothes !!!
