We've been quiet on social media these last few months - We've been experiencing our busiest Summer season to date for which we are eternally grateful.

As well as a busy summer, we have also been working on our exciting new project at Market Square with the exterior works almost complete. We're very much looking forward to the months ahead - watch this space!

If you're free, do join Barrow Blueway Walking Tours this coming Saturday, 8th June, for a Guided Walking Tour along the Barrow Blueway from Athy to Churchtown, Co. Kildare. Meet at the Athy Courthouse at 10:30am. After the guided walk along the canal towpath, there will be a stop in Dilly Dally Coffee Shop. After a short food and coffee break, a FREE bus will take participants (adults only) from this charming cafe for an optional tour of Ballykilcavan Farm and Brewery nearby in Co. Laois. This part of the tour needs to be booked in advance, and it costs €16 (which includes a beer tasting session) on the link shown in the attached flyer. After the tour & tasting session in Ballykilcavan Brewery, a FREE bus will bring participants back to Athy Courthouse.

So do join Barrow Blueway Walking Tours on this guided walking tour to learn about some of the rogues and buccaneers who lived and worked on the Barrow Blueway and to learn about the innovative craft Ballykilcavan Brewery that is on our doorstep.

Did you know that Barrow Blueway Walking Tours will lead a FREE guided (moderate level) walk from Monasterevin to Ballykelly on Wednesday, the 3rd of April 2024?

Tour participants are asked to turn up at 10:30 am at the childrens' playground (next to the aqueduct & lifting bridge) for departure shortly thereafter on Wednesday, the 3rd of April!

So come along on Wednesday to take a look at the rich built-heritage, cultural, and historical gems in and around Monasterevin and the stories of the people whose oft forgotten lives makes this beautiful town so magical today.

The Stables have closed their doors for 2023! We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who chose to stay with us over this last year. We were lucky to welcome almost 500 guests in 2023 and we’re already looking forward to a busy 2024! Wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas! 🎄
