⭐️Camino Day 4⭐️ Palas de Rei to Arzua with @thehikepsych and @uwalk.ie 29km - This day is know as The Day of the Dead Legs and it certainly lived up to it 😂. The 4th (3rd day of walking) is often the one people struggle with the most and that was true for our group, but only for the first couple of kilometres thankfully! You’ve had two long days of walking and a day of travelling, the feet and legs are sore, you haven’t had much sleep and you feel like you’re the only one feeling it. But everyone is and once we started sharing the struggle it suddenly felt lighter and turned into the most brilliant and fun day. We were greeted in Arzua by the most beautiful river, which was a joyous relief to our tired feet and legs! Again we had the option for a shorter route if required and that was a welcome relief for some of the blister crew 🫣😬😂. Cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings. Our hotel for the night is The Hotel Arzua @hotelarzua which is on the Camino trail so very handy and despite only being rated as a two star hotel is absolutely perfect! Buen Camino! Congratulations @trishas.transformation and her wonderful group of walkers who made it safely to Santiago with Uwalk.ie! 💬 Trisha: We did it. 120km later. Tears. Laughs , support, kindness, nerves, bravery, fun, empowerment 😭 I’ve never in my life felt like I felt today. The emotion that hit me was so intense I felt numb. I was lost when I set this page up. I can’t tell you how scared I was. I needed to just have somewhere I could write down how crap and hard times were. My worry was that people would mock me and I would crumble. I was scared people would laugh at me working out. I was scared I would fail and leave myself and everyone down. I was scared of waking up always sad. I wanted that to stop. I had nothing really left and I took a chance. I am so so glad I did. It changed my life. I found my people. My tribe. I never ever ever set it up for it to be this. I walked alongside the strongest , kindest, sweetest, empowered, brave, caring, vulnerable people this week. I got to do that. Whoever was looking down on me. Thank you 😭 I don’t know why this happened, I don’t know what I did to deserve my transformers but I’m so so grateful. I stood today, tears fell. But happy days. They are meant to come out. Gone are the days my community was a blackjack table at a casino. A poker table till 9am. Crippled in fear and worry. I just had to find my community. My tribe. The ones who understand me and understand that I’ll always have a battle but if I can make one extra person believe in themselves more I’m happy. This week I could see the breakthroughs, the moments people realise who they were. I could see people falling back in love with who they were and I could see people thinking I need more. In the words of the wonderful Elaine. People were looking for something this week and instead they found themselves.
