This monthly guide will be posted up in Nenagh Tourist Office and for anyone who is looking for events or what’s on in the month, we have copies to hand out and it’s on our page.

If you have an event, music, festival, fundraiser on in Nenagh or Tipperary and want to be featured on the monthly guide please contact us before the 1st of that month. We also have a What’s On board so if you would like to drop us in a poster, we can put it on display.

"Whispers of the Abbey’’ - The Holycross Jubilee Team will present an evening of captivating storytelling about the Abbey such as: How the Abbey got its name, The Goban Saor, Tomb of the Good Woman’s Son, these are just a few of the tales which people will hear. The night will also have a selection of music song and dance by local talent. This event promises to be an immersive experience into the rich cultural heritage of Holycross Abbey and will deliver an exciting evening of enchanting stories, song and dance which celebrates our community and beloved Abbey.
Location: Holycross Community Centre
Date & Time: 5th October at 8pm.

This evening our Heritage Week event was the premier of “Nenagh - a town with a story to tell”, this is a project that we have been working away on for the past few weeks.

The amazing Jack Spain interviewed, filmed and edited interviews from Nenagh people, telling the stories of Nenagh, the town and growing up here. It is a lovely film and a great way of keeping Nenagh Memories alive.
Jack has put so much time and work into this film and we couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out. A massive thanks to Jack for this fantastic piece of work.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the film, thank you for sharing your memories with us.

This film will be shown in the tourist office soon, we will let you know when it will be shown again and how it can be viewed in the future.

We had a lovely walking tour of Nenagh with Michael Murphy today as part of Heritage Week

What a fantastic morning, we had a fun and very interesting culinary presentation by Peter Ward and Mary McDonough. Mary spoke to us about Boxty and her favourite kind of potatoes, we also got to taste the delicious Boxty. Peter Ward from Country Choice spoke about, cheese, bread, jams, seasonal produce and more. We also got to taste many delicious cheese, apples, bread and meat.

A huge thank you to Peter and Mary, for taking the time to put such a wonderful presentation together. We are very lucky.
