Barber Sachin (John) is celebrating 5 years TODAY since he opened his business at Number 4 John Street. Originally from Mauritius, an island in the Indian Ocean, Sachin moved to Ireland 20 years ago and relocated to New Ross to open his small barber shop after working with Boston Barbers in Dublin. Speaking about his passion for barbering, Sachin recalled that when he started, it was mostly "short back and sides" haircuts back then. "The reason I'm still doing it is that I absolutely love the job," he said.

"I am over the moon with how the business has done in New Ross! I want to thank all the fantastic customers for their support. Everyone has been so kind over the past five years, and I’ve really felt the love," Sachin added.

The accomplished barber offers sharp haircuts and hot towel shaves. He said: "It makes you feel good. You’re giving back to the community, meeting new people every day, talking to them.

“You learn a lot from the faces you see every day. You talk about all sorts. What happens in barbershops stays in barbershops. People come in, talk to you, and want to let their hair down a bit. It’s very therapeutic.”

Congratulations on reaching 5 years in business, Sachin! 🙌👏

Each year, our town is proud to witness the incredible talents and dedication of our many athletes. To honour these exceptional individuals, we are excited to announce the launch of the Apex Sporting Hall of Fame, recognition for those who have excelled in their chosen fields and brought pride to our community.

We are particularly excited to announce our inaugural inductee as Sophie Becker - fresh from her incredible performances at the Paris Olympic games, where her team secured an impressive 4th place in the final, and silver medal at the European Championships. Sophie perfectly embodies the spirit of determination and excellence that the new 'Sporting Hall of Fame' is designed to celebrate. It's fair to say the next generation won't have to look outside the town for inspiration from sporting role models, " added Apex GM Mark Winkle.

Sophie expressed her delight at receiving this recognition.

Celebrations for Irish Olympic Athlete Sophie Becker in her native New Ross in Wexford this evening as part of her Olympics homecoming. Crowds turned out for a special reception for the community as they welcomed their sporting hero home, the message; "We couldn't be prouder, Sophie. Thank you for inspiring not just our town, but the entire nation." ☘️

Narrowly beaten to the post by Britain for the bronze, but every single Irish person is so proud of how much they put in and how they represented us.

Introducing the new-look Four Star Pizza New Ross - The newly fitted out store, are this month celebrating 15 years in New Ross - It was July 2009 when Tom and Christina Chapman bravely ventured into the culinary scene in the Irishtown and while they have introduced other types of pizzas, gluten-free bases, thinner bases, toppings moving towards vegetarian options...some things have just stayed the same – the strongest sellers on their menu have probably been the strongest sellers since the day the guys opened their doors.

- Congratulations to Tom, Christina and their entire team on this milestone. Here's to many more years of mouth-watering success!

A small family business based in Clonroche for more than three decades, growing from small seeds to becoming a well-known brand in its niche. Beechdale Garden Centre began trading 34 years ago in 1990 under the stewardship of Keith Rothwell and his wife Janet.....more recently, their son Andrew has joined the family business!

Initially, the couple focused on growing mushrooms for several years before deciding to branch out and establish their garden centre. Keith's upbringing on the farm surrounding the centre served as a solid foundation for the couple's horticultural pursuits.
- The duo's vision was clear; 'To provide customers with a range of plants that catered to various tastes and preferences.
Staying true to that, the garden centre has grown into a horticultural haven, and now boasts an incredible range.

Congratulation Keith, Janet and Andrew on creating a fantastic destination experience and here's to many more years of success 👏👏

A great turnout on the Quay this evening as New Ross business PN O'Gorman, led by the mother-son partnership of Anne and Philip Carton, celebrated its 100th anniversary. "Going once, going twice, sold!" has been a well used phrase throughout the town for a century, with the family establishing themselves as a pillar of the local business community. Their unique blend of expertise, professionalism, tradition, and local knowledge has enabled them to consistently deliver outstanding services to buyers and sellers, achieving the best results for all their clients.

Anne returned to New Ross in 1979 after several years in Dublin to help her father run PN O'Gorman. Today, she and Philip are at the helm, having taken over from Anne’s parents, who acquired the business from PN's wife in the early 1950s. Like many family businesses, pinpointing their exact beginning is difficult, but their legacy is clear.

Established in 1924, PN O'Gorman Ltd. has continuously adapted and overcome challenges to maintain a high level of excellence over the past century. They have become one of the most respected auctioneers and estate agents in the South East. In the sixties, the old bridge in New Ross closed to make way for a new one, necessitating a move to the other side of the river, directly opposite their original premises.

Congratulations to Anne, Philip, and the entire team on reaching such an magnificent milestone. 👏👏

Introducing the 𝗡𝗘𝗪 Willow Tree Cafe by Loch Mahon Lake. Opened by Shane and his Partner Joanne, They have officially joined forces with the fishing facility, to bring tasty treats as well as speciality roasted 'Epilogue' coffee to visitors. The scenic spot, has plenty of history thanks to Shane’s father, Tom Stafford, who dug out and transformed the site over 15 years ago into a fishing lake.

Shane and Joanne took enormous pride in their attention to detail and creativity designing the new space surrounded with plenty of communal seating - The couple also have ambitious plans to develop the site further. They aim to introduce glamping pods, transforming Loch Mahon Lake into a premier destination experience.

Well done guys - best of luck with the new business, a great addition to the area 👏👏

📢 This New Ross business will see you swinging from the ceiling and showing off your inner circus skills.

Have you ever been daydreaming and found yourself thinking, ‘hey, wouldn’t life be so much better if I were hanging upside down?’ Well, Tania Murphy at Ashgrove Yoga did. The beautiful roof top studio (Ashgrove, Kilscanlon) with a tagline of "Fly, Flow, Float" I think you get the picture 📸 They run various different styles of suspended classes, each with a fresh twist of aerial, swing and mobility. Outside of their mat based yoga classes, Tania offers brave yogis the chance to get creative in an unusual practice, hanging from aerial hoops, silk fabrics and even a hammock.

"Aerial Yoga Classes and Workshops which include full inversions as well as Aerial Yin & Restorative Yoga. Our style still follows the teachings and principles of traditional Yoga but with the added benefit of flowing with a soft silk hammock. Classes included Pranayama (breathwork) and Yoga Nidra (Relaxation). The Aerial Yoga hammock is a fantastic tool to enhance your practice - Just like any mat-based yoga there are many different styles and intensities of Aerial Yoga. You can have really intense, dynamic forms of mat-based yoga which include arm balances and handstands and you can have really chilled forms of mat-based yoga with slow mindful movements and long holds. The same applies for Aerial Yoga." said Tania
