Go to a destination that offers you more for your money 💰

The rate of exchange and the cost of living in a destination should always be considered. This is a great way to get more for your travel spend and stretch your Honeymoon budget.

Consider a country where the rate of exchange works in your favour, Thailand, Bali, South Africa to name a few, all offer amazing hotels at a fraction of the price compared to the Maldives or Seychelles. Your money will go further in these destinations. So, you could upgrade to that private pool villa without breaking the bank.

Mix up the hotels too, you don’t really need a five star hotel if you are going to spend 6 hrs of the day sightseeing. Saving in the city so you can upgrade at the beach. Another way to add in the wow factor is to upgrade your room or hotel for your last 3 nights. Finish the trip with bang. Staying in your own pool villa for any length of time is a dreamy experience and by staying 2 or 3 nights at the end it makes it achievable.

In these destinations dining out and drinks will be much more affordable too so you will have more money for some amazing excursions.

🌴Is Travel your only career?
Yes Travel is my only career. I work exclusively in Travel and have done for almost 30yrs.
I have been running my own Honeymoon business for 15 of these years.

🌴Who do you work with:
I work under the umbrella of Travel Counsellors.
This allows me to have directly connected rates with the airlines, cruise companies and hotels in order to offer you competitive rates. We are Licensed and Bonded in Ireland and Registered as a business in Ireland for 20 years.

🌴Do you think you can have a primary career and also work in travel?
Personally I don’t.
It would be extremely difficult to offer any level of customer service, or any consistency to your clients and impossible to offer emergency assistance if not working full time in the business.

🌴Do you recruit?
I do not.
My business was created to help Honeymoon couples take the stress and responsibly out of booking their Honeymoon thus allowing them to concentrate on their wedding.

🌴Is it a pyramid?
No, my business is not.
Recruitment had nothing to do with my travel business. All my efforts go into running my honeymoon business and looking after my lovely Honeymoon couples. Staying up to date with the latest travel trends, new airline routes and new destinations and hotels so I can advise you correctly.

🌴Why did you create your Honeymoon business?
I created my business to allow couples share their inspiration and Dreams for their Honeymoon and with my expertise we turn these dreams into a Honeymoon reality. I have the experience and know how to do this.

📌Deciding where to go, financial constraints and working around your schedule.

🌴Start with Schedule, write down all the things you have to attend. A wedding, Hen, Stag, 70th birthday, communion, football matches whatever it is write it down and see what weeks you have free.

If there’s nothing jumping out decide what you can miss to get you 10 days or a 2 week break. No one is going to be too annoyed with you for missing their day, it’s your Honeymoon after all and an important celebration for you both. There will also be plenty of matches to play going forward!

🌴Where to go:

First start with where you don’t want to go, I find that rules out lots of places very quickly. If one of you have been to a destination with an ex that’s likely not the place for your honeymoon

Then look at the weather, south east Asia might be your dream destination but it won’t be dreamy if it’s lashing in October. Hurricane season in the Caribbean is September and October mostly and Cyclone season in the Seychelles and Mauritius is Jan,Feb & March. This will again rapidly narrow it down for you.

🌴Next look at your budget.

If everyone is telling you the Maldives is €8000 they are not making it up. It’s costly to live on what is essential a sand bar for a week. Be realistic rather than disappointed. There are amazing places to travel to within everyone’s budget. You just need a little guidance. I can advise you on better value destinations in places you may not have heard of and better hotels and resorts in the destinations you have heard of.

I can also advise you on where not to go, and what to avoid, which is equally as important.

So not only will I save you money I will save you hours of your precious free time so you can concentrate on your wedding and that’s the value in working with a Honeymoon Expert.

Best honeymoon destinations? Best places for a honeymoon?Best honeymoon resort?
What are the favourite honeymoon destinations?

While these are all valid questions I think the point of a honeymoon is being missed 🤔.

A honeymoon is a period time of time in which you get to enjoy each other’s company & celebrate your marriage. This is usually abroad in a place you both dream of visiting. Somewhere you can both have fun and make memories. The resorts, destinations are less important.

The questions you should be asking yourselves, so your Honeymoon is right for both of you, are:

🌴Where can we go that we will both enjoy and excites both of us.

🌴Where have we both dreamed of visiting.

🌴Where can we go that
we can treat ourselves to something we normally don’t get on a regular trip.

🌴What aspects of our previous trips did we really enjoy and we would like to incorporate similar things into our honeymoon.

The frame work of your Honeymoon should reflect what you normally like to do when you travel.
That could be, a total chill out at the beach 🏝 . A city and beach combination or a four center Honeymoon adventure.

This in essence is what you both enjoy and should not be compromised on for what is considered “A Honeymoon Destination”

My advice for the perfect Honeymoon, do what you enjoy, just do it better.

✈️Visit the place that is top of your bucket list.
✈️Stay in the 5 star hotel.
✈️Choose a villa with a private pool and a sea view.
✈️Book a private dinner on the beach.

Do what you enjoy and treat yourself is the priority of any honeymoon regardless of the destination.

It’s one of the very few times in your life that you can justify pushing the budget and treating yourselves. So make the most of it.

Balis private pool villas are an absolute must experience while on your Honeymoon.
So private and also very romantic. You’ll feel like you are a millionaire it’s such a fabulous experience and the best news is they are affordable.
Think about incorporating at least 3 nights to treat yourself it’s totally worth it and it is your honeymoon after all.

My tips for Honeymooning in Bali:

🚙 Use Grab car: similar to Uber and freenow, no cash needed as you pay via the app. Required for getting to restaurants. Super easy and they arrive almost instantly.

🙅 Location, location, location. Traffic is REAL don’t underestimate how long it takes to get around, allow plenty of time or better yet make sure your hotel location is correct it really matters. I can certainly assist with choosing the correct hotel. An advertised 20 mins from Ubud on the hotel website could actually be 40mins each way 😳

⛱️Look for the beach clubs, the sunset restaurants and bars. Take a walk along the beach in front of your hotel you’d be amazed how many appear and they are not always visible from the road.

🍴 Book restaurants- the really popular ones are always busy, most have links on insta to a booking page or WhatsApp booking, so plan a day ahead to get into the nicest places. We’ve eaten in some gorgeous places do I can guide you here too.

🧊 Don’t take ice in your drinks to avoid Bali belly.

This is my 2nd trip to Bali and it has changed but using the above tips will help you get the most from your Honeymoon 😀.
