23rd of March Jordans bar will be the place to be for the Benbulben Macra Lip Sync Battle 🕺

Lip Sync Battle followed by tunes from the one and only DJ Jumpy. Money raised will go towards buying a bike for St Cecilias School and the running of the club.

€10 entry and every entry gets 1 vote to crown our winners 🏆

🚲Benbulbens Bike🚲

At our first meeting of 2024 we decided our 2024 goal would be to give back to our community.

As our chairman, Sean Walsh works in St Cecilias he suggested that we would raise money to purchase a new bike for the school. The club agreed as we would love to benefit the community locally.These bikes would benefit the students in so many ways through working on skills as well as the enjoyment they get from them.

As these bikes cost up to €2000 we will be having fundraisers throughout the year. We hope to also set up a go fund me page.

Our first fundraiser is the 23rd of March so save the date 📅 Keep an eye our social media for details 😉

As the dust settles from a great night at Northwest King's and Queen's we would like to thank our fantastic Queen, Aoife Mitchell and King, Andrew ODoherty on representing the Club and County so well on the night.

Thanks to all the members who made it a memorable night and for the many laughs on the night. A massive congratulations to Cavan and Longford on being crowned Kings and Queens.

Lastly we would like to say a big thank you to last year's Northwest Queen and club member Karen Mc Nicholas for being such a fantastic ambassador for our great little club and family over the year ❤️

Andrew comes from Maugherow and is a member of Benbulben Macra where he is vice chairman. Andrew is a leaving cert student. Andrew enjoys football, the gym, cycling and we can't forget farming with them excellent Pedigree Shorthorn cattle!

Aoife hails from Keash Co. Sligo and is part of Benbulben Macra. Aoife is a student teacher and part time waitress. When she's not busy between her 2 jobs Aoife enjoys dancing, farming, football and music.

Our first farm walk of the year is the much requested Atlantic Way Alpaca Farm in Grange.

Siobhan has a wide array of animals from Goats, Poultry, sheep, Cattle, Donkeys to name a few. And rumour has it there will be baby kids when we arrive 🥰

Takes place Saturday the 10th of February at 11am. €5 per person and you don't have to be a member of Macra to come along.

A big thank you to our members who came out to our Christmas party and awards night, last night in Langs Bar and Restaurant ,Grange.

Congratulations to all our award winners. We started off with our novelty awards which were won by Elaine Flanagan and Ronan Mcgarraghy ( you had to be there on the night to know what they were 🤣). We then moved onto our next section of awards:

Best Smile - Dylan Mullarkey. Dylan always has a smile on his face and is guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face who talks to him.

Beef and Sheep Stock Judging- Andrew O'Doherty . Andrew won the county round earlier in the year. Well done to Andrew, another brilliant new member also.

Best new member - Karen Mc Nicholas . Karen joined our club last year and has been such a support and goer in our club organising and helping. Karen also put Benbulben Macra on the map being crowned Northwest Queen last January.

The Spirit of Macra - Mark OConnor . Mark joined earlier this year and has really shown the true spirit of Macra by getting involved, attending events and coming up with ideas. We are looking forward the next year with Mark in the club.

Lastly we made a presentation to our club chairman Sean Walsh who won the title of Northwest Volunteer of the Year back in October. Well done Sean and thanks for all the work and dedication to keep Benbulben Macra growing.

Also Thank you to Johnny, Helen and all the staff at Langs for accommodating us this year for all our gatherings. Your support is greatly appreciated 🙏
