The findings of the 2023 National Remote Working Survey were released yesterday by the Western Development Commission and the University of Galway.

92% of respondents indicated that remote/hybrid working would be a key factor in their decision to change employer.

The Christmas buzz is about to go up a notch in Sligo Town, as the Christmas Lights Switch on Street Party takes place from 2-7pm on Saturday Nov 25th. With the Late Late Toy Show and Black Friday on the evening before, it will be a real Christmas lift off over the weekend in Sligo!

There's a bunch of fun and entertainment lined up on the day with Ocean FM broadcasting Live on the street and as always they will have lots of goodies to give away including a bundle of Love Sligo Gift Cards - the ultimate 'Shop Local' gift to show your love for Sligo!
With Live music, Fire Breather, Festive Samba Band, Barbershop Singers, Face Painters, Choirs and more, it promises to be a fun filled Family Event.
Plus, keep and eye out for Santa and his Elves on the day too!
This years event will see a very special 'Snow Queen' performance on the street so it will be a really special day for all ages!
The event is a FREE event and the fun kicks off from 2pm until 7pm with the lights being turned on at 6.30pm. The street will be pedestrianised for the event, to ensure maximum comfort for all the fun and visitors!

"This is one of our favourite events each year and each year, it gets bigger and bigger! We have invested hugely in the Sligo Town Christmas lights since 2016 and they really do boost the Christmas Spirit in town", said BID CEO Gail McGibbon. "We encourage people to get in early, meet friends and enjoy all the town has to offer before and after the event and support our local businesses".

SLIGO PARK HOTEL REVIEW 💫

AD Is there anything better than a night away at a beautiful hotel ft Prosecco and pornstar martinis?!

We had such a lovely stay at The decor was gorgeous. We were in the Innisfree Suite which has a full dressing room, lounge area, comfortable bed & free standing bath. So luxurious ☺️ The cocktails were divine, no pre mix in sight! They also had lots of gluten free options at breakfast and Karl said the pool, whirlpool bath and steam room facilities were fab.

We will definitely be back 🫶🏻 thanks so much for having us!

Sligo County Council encourage everyone to get involved in the consultation process and ‘have your say’ on the future of the County.

The Draft Plan is available to view in full on Sligo County Council’s consultation portal (consult.sligococo.ie). Written submissions or observations on the Draft Plan will be accepted until 22 December 2023, and the best way to do this is online via the portal.

Printed copies of the Plan can also be inspected at our offices at City Hall, Quay Street, the County’s libraries and the Area Offices of Enniscrone, Tobercurry and Ballymote during their normal opening hours.
