Donegal East Tourism

Donegal East Tourism Established in 2017, we aim to promote east Donegal to both locals and visitors, providing info on activities, accommodation, attractions and much more.

Donegal East Tourism was established in March, 2017, to promote the east of the county as a tourist destination for visitors and locals alike. It is our aim to promote an area from Fintown - down the Finn and Lagan valleys, as far as Burt. Since our first meeting on March 15th, we have made considerable progress. A formal committee has been set up, new logos designed, an information map/booklet is

being compiled and a website is currently under construction. In addition, space has been booked on the Donegal Tourism stand at the upcoming Holiday World fairs in Dublin and Belfast in January, 2018. A number of other projects are also in the pipeline. We would argue that, in terms or tourism promotion, this part of the county has been ignored for far too long. This is despite it being home to one of Europe's best salmon fishing rivers, the Finn, the Glenfin Gaeltacht, Bluestack Montains, McElhinney's Stores, Oakfield Park, Beltany Stone Circle, Lifford Old Courthouse and An Grianan of Aileach. The region also has a strong tradition of Irish music, an Ulster Scots heritage and much, much more.
