'twas fabulously fab as always 💙🌊😍 Air 10C, water 12C

I started cold water swimming more than two years ago and can't thank myself enough for doing so😅. Apart from changing my diet and getting lots of fresh air, taking some vitaminsea many times per week is the reason why I haven't been sick for years, hallelujah! 🙏🥳

Ahhh, that sweet smell of Meadowsweet (Filipendula Ulmaria) - a sacred herb in ancient Celtic rituals. It was also used by the Celts to attract love.

I landed in my home country 🇪🇪 yesterday and so far have been enjoying its summer vibes non stop. Take a look at the blooming lingonberries, mayflowers and rosehips! This grey' ish moss under the pine trees is reindeer lichen and it has been widely used in our folk medicine for centuries.
Swimming in the Baltic Sea is extremely invigorating at the moment 🥶❄️🤩as the water is still very cold, much colder than in the Atlantic.

Exactly one year ago Kylie and Sarah from Tasmania had booked my Connemara tour. Because of the long, rough and winding trail I usually don't bring people to see the castle. But nothing could stop Kylie and Sarah - they insisted and off we took 😊
The castle was built in 1812 by John D'Arcy, the founder of Clifden town. The remaining stone shell of the castle looks impressive with some wooden beams still holding the load. If you're ever in the area go have a look. It is located at the start of the scenic Sky Road. After visiting the castle I suggest you follow the Sky Road all the way up to the viewing point - you won't be disappointed, the scenery is spectacular! 💚💙

When my swimming days are getting brighter and warmer 🌅💙
This morning at 8am the water temperature was 8°C, air 7°C.
Throughout the winter months myself and my swimming buddies have endured all sorts of weather from cold, icy and calm to very wild and stormy. There's no such thing as a bad swim whatever is the case as the vitaminsea never fails to nourish and invigorate you from head to toe 🧜🌊🌪️🤩

Cliffs of Moher - one of the most visited places on the west coast of Ireland. Cliffs stretch along the Atlantic for 8 km (5 miles) and are highest in the North -214 m (702 ft). The O'Brien's Tower was built in 1835 as a viewing point by the local landlord Cornelius O'Brien to develop tourism.
The visitor center, built into a hillside, was completed in 2007 and cost 31,5 million euro. Can you spot it? 😉☘️
On a fine day all three Aran islands can be seen in the distance, Inish Oirr being the closest.

Sunset on the Aughinish Island.
Aughinish became an island due to the tsunami caused by the enormous Lisbon earthquake in 1755. In the early 1800s the British built the causeway from Aughinish to the County Galway mainland to service their troops in the martello tower.

Here I finished my four day road trip in County Donegal. Located on the 2500 km touring route of the Wild Atlantic Way the Fanad Head Peninsula and its beautiful lighthouse just took my breath away.

Inis Meáin (Inishmaan) is the middle of the other two Aran Islands, Inis Mór and Inis Oirr, and is situated in the mouth of Galway Bay. The least populated and visited of the Aran Islands it offers solitude and tranquility. Admire and walk between the endless rows of dry stone walls, visit ancient forts, take a stroll to the wedge tomb linked to the epic legend of Diarmuìd and Graínne, go and see Harry Clarke's beautiful stained glass in the church or take a guided wildflower walk with Aedín. Hearing Gaelige/Irish language spoken as the first language of the islanders was just music to my ears ☘️💙🎶

Just realized that I haven't posted any reviews here so far.
This is the most recent one from Susan and her family in New Jersey. They wanted to see as much as possible of the Burren and mostly off the beaten track. And so we did: they were jumping over the fences, had a scenic walk in the remotest places of the Burren, loved the Perfumery and enjoyed a tasty meal in the local pub. It was late in the evening when we made it back to Galway after a day filled with great conversations, beauty, laughter and joy. Thank you Susan, Sean and Elizabeth ❤️

This is how it looked yesterday, blooming buttercups and sea pinks everywhere. And the colour of the Atlantic...!

It all began in 1623 when the future King Louis XIII decided to build here a small hunting lodge. Versailles, as we see it today, was brought to it's lavishness throughout the reign of the King Louis XIV.
But there is another Versailles which I didn't know existed. Wait for my next post 😉
