Yesterday we had our last Killybegs Food Tour of the Summer. We were delighted to finish up the season with this tour which was also part of the #donegalconnect series of events.
Well done to all those involved in organising this event which focuses on reconnecting with Donegal Disapora to encourage a return home to explore why Donegal is a great place to live, work, invest, study and do business in.
Looking forward to seeing this initiative grow over the coming years.

Thank you to @santosh__maya and his wonderful partner Niamh for inviting us to play a small part in this very special pop up tasting event and to Siubhan, Ciaran and team at Corcreggan Mill, Dunfanaghy for being such brilliant hosts.
If you have a ticket for tonight’s SOLD OUT event then you are in for a treat💫 All ingredients have been sourced within a 20km radius of Corcreggan Mill, a large amount of which - being foraged from Santosh’s own garden with wines paired carefully by @jnwine
Looking forward to seeing where Santosh pops up next 🍴
Sampling some new wines for tours today🤩

A taster of our most recent tour. First we tried Donegal Pepper Dulse Cheese and Rioja Reserva at @thebluegoatramelton and met legendary owner and host extraordinaire Des Gallen who also gave our guests the grand tour of his fabulous heritage building.
Then we took a little detour to Falcarragh via (a very cloudy) Poison Glen - whilst weather does not always permit stunning scenery in Donegal the rain and mist does make a great backdrop for stories of mythological giants whilst holding a glass of bubbles. Here we introduced our guests to Pét-Nat wine which is produced in a similar fashion to Champagne and is completely organic🥂
@mulroybaymussels and @kinnegar beer battered Cod were the order of the day at @thestrandroadbarandkitchen . Of course we tasted some Kinnegar beer along with our delicious fresh, local seafood 🍻
Our third stop on this tour included @silkiewhiskey Panna Cotta at @arnoldshotel , more mythology stories and a history of Arnold’s Hotel by our lovely host - Aisling Arnold.
And for our last stop on this tour we visited Branden and Mary Rose Kern at their magical cafe @tiscoffeetime . A thatched cottage cafe with a great emphasis on old Irish food and traditions with a bit of a modern twist. Here we tried Brandens take on pizza and sipped on a little Sangiovese before hitting the road back to Letterkenny.
Thanks to all our guests for making the day as enjoyable for us as we hope we made it for you! And thank you to Kevin Dooher for capturing the day 📸
Next up! Killybegs Food Tour, Taste Inishowen, Border Hop Tour and ‘Savour the Flavour’ Festival Food Tour.... Get your tickets via www.donegalfoodtours.com 🚌 🍴🥂
