Glenveagh National Park only 15 minutes from Lough View Cottage can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Each season brings a different beauty to the National Park. A fabulous attraction on our doorstep.

Glen (Bridle Path) Walk

A natural extension of the lakeside walk, this is the shortest and most easily negotiated route through the National Park. Watch out for old settlements, now derelict, along the walk as well as the native oak woodland.

Mullangore woods extends for 4 kilometres of this walk, along the shore of Lough Veagh. Views on either side of the Derryveagh Mountains, while Golden Eagles soar along the ridge lines.
The Glen Walk can be enjoyed by many, a mostly flat dirt/gravel road and rising the last 3 kilometres to the top of the Glen.
The winter season can be a time to enjoy Glenveagh National Park, but we do advise all visitors to be prepared for their visit. Appropriate footwear and clothing is advised for this walk in the National Park and don’t forget plenty of snacks and drinks depending on the season.
