December 26th mackerel madness 😅😅🎣🎣 we took a short spin out the harbour today and whilst we did not plan to target mackerel we came across some huge shoals in less than 25feet of water crazy when in peak summer months were so scarce and almost non existent!! Loads of activity at sea bait balls in the water lots of seals around and plenty birds also 😄

What a day we had a sea today flat calm sea loads of wildlife about and plenty of fish too😃🎣🎣 we had ling, mackerel, po***ck, red gurnard, cuckoo wrasse,pouting,scad and up to 30+ Spurdogs throughout the day, great fun had by all well done to young Liam today first time deep sea fishing 👏

No joy in the search for bluefin tuna this time but season runs into mid November hopefully the weather allows us to get out and keep trying🙏 we were trolling near one of the local wrecks where we stopped and Francis picked up some fine ling to save the day 😅😅💪💪🎣🎣

With a welcome break in the weather todays plan was to start early and head to wreck to see if there was any ling about and it did not disappoint 🎣 we also had one blue shark to the boat today estimated at 80lbs released boat side. We did want to kick start our bluefin tuna season and tow our lures back to dungarvan but the easterly wind had picked up to much at that stage but a good day none the less 🎣🎣😃

Today we caught the best part of the morning before the wind picked up slightly in the afternoon🎣🎣 signs of mackerel starting to show again hopefully the crew had them throughout the day 🤞🏻 species today was mostly po***ck, mackerel, ballan wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, and pouting🎣🎣☀️

As part of our winter lay up/maintenance we flush our sea water intake system with fresh water and then add salt away to remove any salt water deposits to keep our engine safe and salt free🙌
