We are thrilled to be bringing local tenor Gavan Ring to our theatre on the 17th of November. He will be joined on the night by pianist Gary Beecher. Together the will present songs from Schubert’s Winterreise.

Join Cahersiveen’s own tenor Gavan Ring and Cork pianist Gary Beecher - two of Ireland’s most celebrated classical artists - for a distinctive performance of Schubert’s art song masterwork Winterreise.

Probably the greatest song cycle of all time, Winterreise is the dark and dramatic story of how love unrequited leads to despair, madness and even death itself illustrated through the pathetic fallacy of an impending and deepening winter.

This performance will have subtitles so audiences can fully immerse themselves in this veritable emotional rollercoaster.

⭐️Picture of the week⭐️

"Any Kerryman will tell you that there are only two Kingdoms: the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Kerry – “One is not of this world, and the other is out of this world.”

This absolutely stunning picture from the top of the Devils ladder, looking across onto Cnoc na Pèiste.. the reeks standing high and proud above a beautiful cloud inversion.

well done amazing ❤️

The Devil's Ladder is part of the standard route for climbing Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain (1,038m). What looks like a landslide or boulder field from a distance is actually the most direct route to the summit. In good weather, climbing on the rocks is a great adventure, which should only be attempted if you are sure-footed and have mountain experience. When it rains, the devil's ladder (which rightly bears its name) turns into a waterfall and makes the descent in particular a very slippery and dangerous affair.
