We've an early start this morning with a tailor made Westport foodie tasting tour for Insight Vacations 🌴who are . We're leaving The Wyatt Hotel and meeting the locals to promote everything local. On our way we sample Achill Island Sea Salt chocolate 🍫from Marlene's Chocolate Haven, we talk about Westport Tidy Towns, the importance of No Mow May and the Leave No Trace Ireland 🌎 philosophy, The Swift Nesting🐦‍⬛ project at Westport Town Hall Theatre before stopping for Westports famous yellow top buns 🎂from Curry's Cake Angels. Then we'll chat about Westport bat boxes 🦇along the Carrowbeg river and taste Irish butter fudge🍬 from Market 57, handmade icecream 🍦 from Graham at Krēm Gelateria & Cafe, Irish cheeses🧀 from Dozio Cheese at Savoir Fare and a quick visit to PAX Whole Foods & Eco Goods 🌎 to hear all about Mckinley and her teams efforts to make food and shopping more sustainable. Phew...we're tired and full just thinking about it 🤣

‘The Clock’, which stands at the bottom of High Street and the corner of Bridge and Shop Streets, is a favourite meeting spot for locals and visitors alike, especially with a coffee from ! ⏰

Erected in 1947, and replacing an old fountain on the site, The Clock is the only Art Deco municipal clock in Ireland. The freestanding clock tower is built on a square plan and set on a concrete-brick cobbled footpath.

The Clock is also known locally as ‘The Four-Faced Liar’, as it frequently tells the wrong time, and can even simultaneously show different times on each of its four faces… So if you’re arranging to meet someone, best to go by your own watch!
