Holy Trinity National School is a co educational school situated in the heart of beautiful Westport. We have three classrooms. Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st Class are in the Junior Classroom. 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class are in the Middle Room and 5th and 6th Class are in the Senior Room. In our small school environment all pupils and staff get to know each other very well and many strong relat

ionships and friendships are formed among our pupils. All our pupils are valued and respected and experience a sense of caring and belonging. Our school is under the patronage of The Church of Ireland and also welcomes children from different faiths and none. We currently have a number of families from different faiths and we enjoy learning from each other. Our school caters for children with various special educational needs as well as for children whose first language is not English. We have a learning support / resource teacher and a special needs assistant. On a weekly basis our children enjoy drama lessons, tin whistle lessons and Irish dancing lessons with specialist teachers. We also have after-school soccer for middle room and senior room pupils. Throughout the school year pupils participate in many whole school activities including our annual Christmas concert, an Irish dancing and music performance, gardening club, Westport Art's festival activities, Active week, Friendship Week and a variety of other activities. Our senior pupils also enjoy gaelic training, spike ball, cross country running, Greenway cycles, quizzes. Click on whole school activities to see more details of these activities and others. Developing an appreciation by pupils of Ireland's culture, traditions and language is an integral part of the school's educational activities.

The monthly Sunday Club restarts this coming Sunday, 12th January 2025, in Holy Trinity, Westport, starting at 11.30am in the church, then moving to the Holy Trinity N.S., and finishing back in the church. For all children (of school age, for practical reasons). New attendees are most welcome.

We would like to wish you and your family a peaceful, happy and healthy Christmas from everyone in Holy Trinity NS. We are so grateful to all our parents, guardians, friends and families who support us from behind the scenes, and in front, in various different ways. It makes all the difference and it is very greatly appreciated. We are so very proud of all the children in our care and we wish them all the happiness of the Christmas season. They are a credit to all of you. We look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year. Happy Christmas everyone🥳🎄🎉

Everyone received their participation certificates today for 'The Run Up to Christmas' challenge thanks to Mayo Sports Partnership . The school council were thrilled to also receive two Intersport Elverys vouchers which will be used towards some new sports equipment and we raffled off some other lovely gifts, including Mayo hats, bags and drinks bottles. The children really enjoyed taking part in this wonderful initiative again this year.

Well done to all the children for playing their part in our Christmas Concert yesterday. The Middle room started with a brilliant performance of 'The Golden Goose', Senior room pupils entertained us with 'The Legend of Labhri Lynch' and finally the Junior room children stole the show with their performance of 'Are we nearly there yet?'. We also enjoyed some beautiful songs by Laura's singing group. Many thanks to parents and families for all your support and for providing refreshments afterwards. Happy Christmas everyone🎄🎄🎄

We are very grateful to Miss Bourke’s Mammy , June Bourke, for providing all the materials and demonstrating how to make the arrangements. 🙏
This was a new experience for the children and I think they should all be very proud of their creativity.

We had a lovely visit with Bishop Michael this morning, who told us stories about some of the mischief he got up to himself as a young boy😊 Nothing too serious thankfully but we hope he didn't give anyone any ideas🥰. Also lovely to see Reverend Suzanne, who is looking forward to seeing all the children singing in the church this Sunday evening. She got a sneak preview from The Junior Room this morning. The Senior Room had a great time at a bilingual Ceardlann Drummaí (drumming workshop) this afternoon at the Westport Mayo County Library. If the cap fits, wear it! We got to try a few on for size. Just as we should in life. 😊
