Last week the Senior Room had a very happy outing for their end of January reward. The sun was out and spring was in the air. We walked through Westport House to look at the snowdrops, had fun sliding on ice, played basketball at the skatepark and enjoyed some delicious cupcakes.

Well what an ending to 'Friendship week'!🥰 We spent our week 'filling one another's buckets' with all the wonderful, amazing things that make someone a special friend to us.

We talked a lot about what it means to be a good friend and what a good friend should and shouldn't do. We ended the week with Holy Trinity's Annual Friendship Feast, one of the highlights of our school year and just one of the things that makes our school so special.

Young and old come together in their groups to play board games, share yummy food and enjoy a really fun quiz where everyone is involved. We had the lovely Julia doing work experience with us this week and she described Holy Trinity like 'one big family' 🥰 which was lovely to hear. Thank you so much to everyone who baked, bought and brought in lovely games to play, everyone's contribution is what made the day such a lovely experience for all. Happy Valentine's Day💕 Enjoy the weekend everyone 🥰

The Senior Room enjoyed a Tag Rugby Blitz at Westport Rugby Club on Wednesday. Girls and boys play together and teamwork and cooperation is key.
Thanks to Clare Coughlan CDRO for a very well organised day and thanks to all the volunteers at Connacht Rugby for reffing and manning the pitches.

The Junior Room were practising their 'procedural writing' today. It was made all the more interesting when there was some chocolate involved. Procedural texts list a sequence of actions or steps needed to make or do something, so there was a lot of pouring, stirring, melting, and mixing written and drawn about today. The hard work was worth it all though when it was followed by some very yummy 'eating' at break time. 🥰

Thanks to all the wonderful students in Sancta Maria College who performed today in 'Bye Bye Birdie' under some difficult circumstances. They were real troupers who kept the show going and ensured everyone had a really lovely day out. It was lovely to see some of our past pupils on stage today too. Well done everyone 👏

The monthly Sunday Club restarts this coming Sunday, 12th January 2025, in Holy Trinity, Westport, starting at 11.30am in the church, then moving to the Holy Trinity N.S., and finishing back in the church. For all children (of school age, for practical reasons). New attendees are most welcome.

We are so grateful to all our parents, guardians, friends and families who support us from behind the scenes, and in front, in various different ways. It makes all the difference and it is very greatly appreciated. We are so very proud of all the children in our care and we wish them all the happiness of the Christmas season. Everyone received their participation certificates today for 'The Run Up to Christmas' challenge thanks to Mayo Sports Partnership . The school council were thrilled to also receive two Intersport Elverys vouchers which will be used towards some new sports equipment and we raffled off some other lovely gifts, including Mayo hats, bags and drinks bottles. The children really enjoyed taking part in this wonderful initiative again this year.
