This Valentine's weekend (Feb 14th & 15th), Couples are invited to climb the 115 steps of our 12th-century tower where the monks of Hook Head in County Wexford lit fires to warn ships of the impending danger of the rocks. With each step you ascend, you will delve back in time and hear the fascinating tales of the Knights, the Monks and the Lightkeepers who lived there along with the battles, shipwrecks and heroic seafaring they encountered before you step onto the tower balcony to view the miles of sea and coastline stretching out across the Celtic sea.
Also offered at our 800-year-old lighthouse is a delicious selection of desserts - and you can enjoy a special of 2 desserts plus two hot beverages for just €15.00 per couple, available at the Lighthouse Café on Feb 14th & 15th, 2025.
You could enjoy a delicious treat from a choice of Carrot cake, Lemon meringue pie, Apple pie, Chocolate fudge cake, Caramel gateaux, Black forest gateaux, Coffee cake or Lemon gateaux.

We really want to stress to everyone - DO NOT TRAVEL TO HOOK LIGHTHOUSE on this occasion.
We are closed tomorrow and this is a life threatening storm.
Please DO NOT go to any coastline, there will be huge swells and overtopping.

Due to the Red Weather Warning we will close on Jan 24th 2025.
This is an extreme weather alert with danger to life. Please please heed the advice of staying safe, keeping inside, please do not travel to Hook Lighthouse, please keep away from the coastline - wherever you are in the country, the sea swells will be very significant.
We will be back open on Saturday January 25th and look forward to welcoming our visitors everyday from there onwards.
Until then, charge up the devices, get the candles out, get some of your favourite food in and batten down!

Join us in ringing for the new year from 7.30am tomorrow...
To begin the New Year at Hook Lighthouse, the doors of the visitor centre will be open early, from 7.30 am, and visitors will be welcomed in to enjoy a view of the sun rising on the New Year as they enjoy a leisurely sunrise breakfast.
At 1 pm, the Dunbrody Archers will join Cllr BridÍn Murphy An Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District of New Ross Council to participate in the ceremony. The ancient tradition dates back to 1687 when the Mayor and the corporation of New Ross Town Council claimed their authority over the Tower and waters by travelling to the point of the Hook and shooting an arrow into the sea from Hook Head Lighthouse.
