A great day was had by all those who endured the warm weather and climbed Carrauntoohil on June 1st. In addition to the cheque presented below to Marymount University Hospice for €6,589 a further €1,966 was raised online bringing the total amount fundraised to €8,555 by Trabolgan and its staff.
Thanks to Piaras and Catherine Kelly from Kerry Climbing for their assistance both in advance of and on the day and to Marymount University Hospice for their support over the last few weeks and months. As well as climbing Carrauntoohil in aid of Marymount University Hospice it was also in memory of our great friend and colleague Carmel O’Halloran. Carmel’s husband Liam led both the fundraising efforts and the group on the challenging route to the summit.

The team here at Trabolgan Holiday Village will climb Carrauntoohil on the Iveragh Peninsula on Thursday 1st June in aid of Marymount University Hospice Cork and in memory of our great friend and colleague Carmel O’ Halloran.

Another busy day for the Trabolgan Holiday Village characters as they dropped off some Easter treats for all the boys and girls at CUH Cork and Mercy University Hospital Cork. The Trabolgan Holiday Village characters were delighted to get a chance to visit and drop off some nice treats to Crumlin Children’s Hospital, Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice earlier this week. As always we were given a very warm welcome from the fantastic staff at all hospitals.

The characters and staff here at Trabolgan Holiday Village have been very busy over the past few months supporting Community Projects and visiting a number of Children’s Hospitals. Thank you to Corkbeg AFC , LauraLynn – Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, Cork University Hospital, Mercy University Hospital Cork and Aghada GAA Club for your assistance, extremely warm welcome and for the continued extraordinary work of all your staff and volunteers from all the Team here at Trabolgan Holiday Village.

We are excited to tell you that following extensive design consultation with our local planning authority and completion of tendering processes that a multi-million Euro investment has now been agreed for Trabolgan Holiday Village.
This will not only deliver a full refurbishment of our Sub Tropical Swimming Pool Paradise which will include new slides, features, changing facilities and a complete overhaul of the area to transform it into the new and exciting Trabolgan Splash Zone but also a full refurbishment of our Cove Entertainment Venue to transform it into a modern, multi-functional venue which will enhance and also improve our guests’ experience.
Additionally planning permission has now also been granted for 40 new holiday mobile homes and associated works which will include stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean from our wonderful East Cork coastline.
Works are also underway to provide complete internal and external decoration in addition to new kitchens and bathrooms in all our Hazel, Noble and Sycamore accommodation following successful trials last year.
Accordingly we have delayed our opening date to 2024 to allow for all works to be done safely and appropriately and we will update in due course.

We are delighted to tell you that following many years of investment into our accommodation and activity facilities that we now are taking the next major step in continuing to improve and deliver the best holiday experience to you.

Our Sub Tropical Swimming Pool Paradise is now coming to the end of its 37th year in operation and is in much need of a time out for a full refurbishment and overhaul to meet and deliver the expectations of our future guests and visitors.
Our Cove venue which many of you have used has been overtaken by our Main Plaza and is also in need of a time out to have a full make over so it can re-position itself once more as a key destination and once again complement the existing central facilities offerings.

Plans are now being finalised to deliver these improvements and accordingly we have taken the decision to delay our next season opening date until these plans are finalised, timelines are agreed, and we know we can open with the confidence of delivering a new and improved Trabolgan experience for all our customers.

Last weekend we were delighted to host the Midleton GAA Magpies All Star Team for what was a great day out here at Trabolgan Holiday Village. Well done to all the kids, parents and coaches for what was again another fantastic season. We wish this group all the best after being nominated as a finalist in the upcoming Active Community Awards for 2022.
