Throughout the ages, from King David and on, the Judean Desert has been a place of refuge. The caves held the hidden treasures of our people now housed in the Israel Museum. A unique desert along the Syrian-African Rift, the fresh water oasis and hot Temps contribute to the unique flora and animals that one meets here at Ein Gedi.
So many stories to tell.

I had such a fabulous day guiding this wonderful family. Their 2 little boys made my heart swell with nachat. They were completely engaged the entire day despite just landing last night and not sleeping and despite the heat. They had such great insights, ideas and information to share. In the Cardo I went to tell them the story of Rabbi Akiva and Rachel and they told it to me! Their yeshiva day school education is completely felt.

We went sifting at the Sifting project, toured the Old City and went to the Kotel tunnels.

Jerusalem is bustling, it is wonderful to see all the people from all over Israel and the world. What wonderful summer time vibes. Just wonderful!

Visit the Circassians in Kfar K**a. This minority group, Sunni Muslims, have been living peacefully in Israel for 5 generations and serve in the IDF. Their story and their efforts to preserve their language and heritage is to be respected.

A fabulous day at Ancient Zippori with Prof. Avner Aker who excavated here for 10 years! Home of Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi and the place in which he redacted the Mishnah, the monumental work that has been guiding Jewish life throughout the ages.
Zippori did not fight or rebel against the Roman Empire during the Great Revolt, as such it later received the status of a Roman Polis with all the benefits thereof.
The city developed, by the time of Rabbi Yehuda it was overwhelmingly Jewish but as can be seen there was cultural expressin of Greco-Roman culture.

1000 year settlement here.

Zippori. From here we looked over at Hoshaiah, Biqaat Beit Netufah, Har Turan, Moshav Zippori, Nazareth, Haifa.
