Today is the Jewish new year eve (Rosh Hashanah) and it's been a tough year, the toughest we've had here in Israel in many years.
In a year like this it's easy to lose hope and fall into despair.
My way to try and stay hopeful is to get out and remember what a beautiful country we have and what we're fighting for in this place.
These are some pictures from this year in our beautiful wounded country.
Let this new year be a better year, a year of hope, peace, travel and maybe even some fun.

Israel is hosting The 2023 World Junior Swimming 🏊‍♀️ Championships and I had the privilege to guide the swiwwers and staff of the teams from Honduras 🇭🇳 Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and El Salvador 🇸🇻 on two tours in Jerusalem. It was hot 🔥 interesting and fun and they certainly didn't feel like fish 🐟 out of,the water 💧

It's the third summer I guide the students of the Conflict Resolution from Theory to Practice: Israel as a Case Study course of the Hebrew University's Overseas Students School led by Dr. Yuval Benziman.
This year we went on two excursions, the first around Jerusalem in Nabi Samuel, Ein Karem and Gush Etzion and the second in the old city itself.
I'm sure that now the participants of the course understand better the situation on the ground and now it's up to them to find a solution. Good luck with that...
Again, many thanks to Yuval for inviting me to guide his students, it was a pleasure.

Afternoon tour in Jerusalem old city with Cristina and her friends from Spain who came back for a second tour after a year and a half. We had a great time despite the heat.

Israel gets very hot 💥 on July, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy its beautiful landscape. What do you do? You go underground, and that's exactly what we did today with a family from the USA.
First we participated in an archeological excavation in Tel Maresha.
Then we visited the amazing Bell Caves in Beit Guvrin National park,
And after lunch we ventured into the magical Avshalom Cave and saw the amazing stalagmites and stalagtites.
And we managed to stay cool ❄

3 Seas in 3 days.
Dead Sea, Mediterranean Sea and the Sea of Galilee with a great family from LA touring Israel from North to South in Caesarea, Haifa, Akko, Rosh Hanikra, Upper Galilee, Safed, Judaean desert and Masada.
Beautiful landscape, interesting history and archeology, good food and wines and great company.

Jerusalem above and below
A full day in Jerusalem with good friends.
the old city walls promenade overlooking jerusalem from above to the Shiloah Tunnel excavated below the City of David almost 3000 years ago and a tour at the Temple Mount.
After so much walking and history you must have some good hummus and a tour at the Mahane Yehuda market to balance things.

Desert time
A weekend in the Negev Desert.
On the way south we stopped at Nativ Haasara to hear about life on the Gaza strip border.
We continued to a camel ride and a Bedouin lunch and spent two days in Mitzpe Ramon taking in the breathtaking view and exploring the area in an off road trip.
