It was heartwarming and really exciting to meet dozens of friends, wine-loving travelers last Friday at the wine fair held in the city of Acre. In a few hours of a different and sane reality, we got to spend time in the world of wine that I love so much, wading through wonderful winery stands from the war-torn north over the past year, tasting wines, some of which were made during the tensions and security dangers, drawing hope and encouragement from those wine, cheese and farm producers and believing that there is a real kernel of power here, a deep love for the homeland and never-ending optimism. I took the opportunity to invite close friends to participate in a unique wine workshop by the winemaker and head guide to the social-cooperative winery in the city of Acre, and then pick up a glass of wine and greetings of good news for the upcoming Hebrew New Year.
Amen that we will indeed have a much better and quieter year, that the main noise will not be of airplanes but of the extraction of cork corks from wine bottles 🙏 🍷
