It is with great sadness that we got to know that Alex Danzig was murderd in captivity in Gaza, after suffering physical and mental torture for months. His body is still in captivity. Alex, a member of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was 76 years old yesterday. He was the father of four children, the grandfather of 12 granddaughters and a grandson. Alex dedicated his life's work to study and training on the subject of the Holocaust and Jewish-Polish relations, and at the same time worked for many years on the cultivation of the kibbutz fields.
Alex's memory will be engraved as a man who is a bridge between different worlds: between the spirit and the book and the earth and the fields, between Israel and Poland, between the Holocaust and the resurrection. May his memory be blessed!

Today Alex Dancyg turns 76. He is still held as a hostage by hamas.
On 7 October 2023, at the start of the 2023 Israel Hamas War, Dancyg was kidnapped by Hamas militants from Kibbutz Nir-Oz. His son, Mati Dancyg, said Alex Dancyg's last communication was a text he sent to his other son, Yuval Dancyg, at approximately 8:30 am that morning, in which Dancyg told them about the situation in the kibbutz. Dancyg's son and grandchildren survived the attack by hiding in their own shelter. His ex-wife also survived, by holding her missile proof shelter door shut for seven hours, protecting her and her three grandchildren.

At the end of November 2023, one of the released hostages confirmed that Dancyg was alive. He was said to be regularly given medication and to be in good health. The released hostage also stated that Dancyg is giving history lectures to fellow hostages.

זה יותר פשוט, בימקום ליעל את התחבורה, יותר קוים, תדירות גבוה יותר, תחבורה לכול מי שרוצה בסופשים!
היא לא מבינה ולא מפנימה את הצרכים, מנותקת לחלותין. מה זה חשוב, יש לה נהג!!! חושבת שמה שיקדם תחבורה ציבורית זו הוזלה של המחיר!
כמי שנוסעת בתחב"ץ כדי לעודד אותה, ומטעמים אקולוגיים, מבינה שהבעיות הן תדירות , זמינות, תחנות בפרוורים.
והכי הזוי הוא חוסר תחבורה בשבת!!! מה עוזרים ההנחות האלה אם אין שרות הולם!

The Nimrod Fortress is located on one of the most strategic points on the road leading from the Hula Valley and the slopes of the Golan in the direction of Damascus. It is built on the steepest point in the region. Due to pressure of time because the threat of the Crusaders attacks the castle was erected within only three years 1227-1230 CE. In 1253 CE the Crusader forces attempted to conquer Nimrod Castle, but failed. Ayyubid control came to an end in 1260 CE, when the Mongols conquered the region. Their rule did not last long as in that year the Mamelukes faced them in a decisive battle at En Harod . Baibars overpowered the Mongol forces, and the entire region passed to Mameluke control. In this period Nimrod Castle was renovated and expanded . Makhtesh Ramon is a geological feature of the Negev desert. It is the landform is the world's largest erosion cirque (steelhead valley or box canyon). The formation is 40 km long, 2–10 km wide and 500 meters deep, and is shaped like an elongated heart. Despite its appearance, it is not an impact crater from a meteor nor a volcanic crater formed by an eruption. Circassians are settled in two villages in Israël, Kafr Kama and Richaniah in Galilea. They manage to maintain their cultural identity, speaking Adigue language which is the ancestral Circassian language. As a consequence of the Circassian genocide, which was perpetrated by the Russian Empire in the 19th century most Circassians were exiled from their homeland in Circassia to modern-day Turkey and the rest of the Middle East, where the majority of them are concentrated today. Islam is the dominant religion among them since the 17th century. It is of interest to visit their heritage center in Kafer Kama.
