I would like to share a few experiences over the last year.
Last year (2017) I was approached by Joanne Bard to help her organise her son Noah's Barmitsvah in Israel.
Initially it seemed a bit beyond my experience but with Joanne;s encouragement we started to work.
A lot was involved.Trips to Jerusalem to check out restaurants and organising transport.
Finally on the 21st of june the family arrived.The Barmitsvah was celebrated at the Western wall(Kotel) on the 25th.Everything went really well and we all had a good time.
One of the events organised by a friend of the family was a visit to the scribe on Masada.He blessed Noah and made a fuss of him.We even had a L'Chaim.First time that i have drunk Chivas Regal on Masada.
In conclusion Joanne and I did a very good job.
Remember if you need help organising your barmitzvah in Israel,I will be more than happy to help.

At the end of last December I was told of a gentleman by the name of Sir Nicolas Winton who saved hundreds of children before the beginning of the Second World War.The question that could not be answered was why he was not recognised as a''Righteous Gentile'' by the Holocaust museum Yad Vashem.
Today after a visit to Yad vashem the reason for his non recognition as told me, is that he was active before the war and his life was not in danger.
One of the criteria for recognition is for the rescuer to have been in a life threatening situation.
Just imagine how many more of these wonderful people were active.
There is also the story of 10 British POW's who were recognised as ''Righteous Gentiles ''after hiding a young girl who escaped from a death march.Read about it on the Yad Vashem site

This week I visited the Weitzman Institute with a family from Canada .They have a son aged nine.The visit to the Clore Garden of sceince was a great experience for the young man .It was amazing to see the way the guide ,who was excellent,involved the visitor in many of the hands on exhibits.The Garden is really worth a visit.

As of today I can now offer tours as a driver/guide.The significance is that I can now driver /guide groups up to 16 people .

Last Saturday with visitors from Zimbabwe we put Henry's Christianity knowledge to the test and he came out with flying colours. We visited Kfar Kana, Nazareth as well as Yardenit for baptism, amongst other sites. Henry's professionalism and extensive knowledge were very impressive together with his easy going nature. We thoroughly enjoyed the outing.

Yesterday and today we celebrate the jewish new year (Rosh Hashanah) and we wish each other ''(Shana Tova'')WHICH MEANS have a good year.I dont think this is to be addressed to my Jewish friends only.Therefore ,to all of you connected to me in one way or another ,may the almighty grant you a year of happiness ,health and prosperity.

Last Thursday I guided the Gabriel family from San Diego.The parents Graham and Simone and their three kids Naomi-(9),Julia(8) and AIdan(5).
At the end of the day Aidan turned to me and said"Henry ,that was the best day of my life".Out of the mouths of babes.In my time as a tour guide ''That was the best day of my life''.
The tour included a visit to Technoda in Givat Olga,the First Aliyah museum in Zichron Yaacov-to dress up as early pioneers and the herb garden at Ramat Hanadiv.
IN between stops we had lunch in Zichron and ice-cream at Aldos.

THIS WEEK I LED A GROUP TO THE SOUTH.WE VISITED THE MUSEUM TO COMMERATE THE STRUGGLE OF THE HUNGARIAN JEWS.UP TO MARCH OF 1944 NOT ONE HUNGARIAN JEW HAD BEEN DEPORTED FROM HUNGARY .HOWEVER BETWEEN MARCH AND JUNE 1944 450000 WERE SENR TO THEIR DEATHS AT GERMAN DEATH CAMPS.
