Rabbanit Atara Eis, Associate Dean of International Affairs, speaks about Nishmat’s Staff day in the Gaza envelope. Nishmat staff members first went to Sderot to hear the moving story of Rav Chaim Sasi, a Hatzalah volunteer who courageously saved lives on October 7th and got severely injured. Then we visited the site of the Nova Festival massacre where the female staff members sang, prayed and heard stories from two local musicians. We concluded the day at the beautiful new mikvah שבע עלמות - מרחב להתחדשות נשית in Sderot .
It was a moving and meaningful day. May we only hear good news for Am Israel.
Happy Shavuot from Nishmat

Natan Sharansky recently came to Nishmat to speak to students about his experience as a Refusenik fighting for the rights of Soviet Jewry. He concluded his speech with this particularly powerful anecdote about visiting the Lefortovo Prison a decade after he was imprisoned there - about the impact that a small group of committed Jews made to the downfall of the Soviet Union.
Come learn with Rav Sperling and other inspiring teachers this summer at Nishmat!
Nishmat joins Am Yisrael in mourning the passing of Daniel Perez, who bravely fought and fell in battle October 7th. We were honored to hear from Rabbi Doron Perez on Nishmat's recent Solidarity Mission. Our thoughts are with the Perez family today, and we await the return of Daniel's body for Jewish burial soon. Am Yisrael Chai.

Our country may be at war, but maybe even more so because of that, our Liba students really feel that there’s no place they’d rather be than in Israel and at Nishmat.
Listen to Nishmat's beloved teacher Shira Kahn as she tells us about Parashat Yitro, the receiving of our Torah at Mount Sinai, and God's "altar of ground" 🌄⛰✡️
Rabbanit Neima Novetsky's class on Sefer Shemot is just one of eight exciting classes that Nishmat's Online Bet Midrash is offering this semester 🌷 Want to learn torah in an online, women's environment? Join Nishmat’s online Bet Midrash today!📖✡️
🔥🌑This morning, Nishmat’s gorgeous Beit Midrash hosted a community-wide Rosh Chodesh event with soulful tefillah and meditative singing. We started off the new month by preparing for prayer, singing Hallel (as usual, a few students spontaneously pulled out some instruments), studied with Rabbanit Henkin, and finished with a festive breakfast. 🌸
Especially in these difficult times, these moments of acknowledging all the good from Hashem, while petitioning Him for salvation, are packed with meaning and intensity.

“Tragedy in Jewish tradition is followed by redemption. And the big tragedies are followed by the big redemptions.” 🕯️
Rabbi Leo Dee, whose wife and daughters were brutally murdered in a terrorist attack last April, is an incredible Jewish leader known for his deep strength, wisdom, and emunah after tragedy shook his life. In a powerful shiur, he speaks about the current war and its devastating beginning on October 7th, our hostages, and on finding Geulah in times of darkness. As we enter the 80th day of the war, watch his full shiur here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lGQYKjZ5K1M
Lori Palatnik eloquently describes how the remedy to sinat chinam, baseless hatred, is not, as many would think, ahavat chinam, baseless love. It is purposeful love. Love with meaning, love with reason. In these difficult times, let us make an extra effort to realize and understand the countless reasons for loving our fellow Jews, which will ultimately lead to the defeat of our enemies and the success of the Jewish people!
