Had the privilege of guiding these IDF commanders this morning on the Temple mount.
It was a beautiful and meaningful morning, we discussed the different traditions related to this holy place and asked some questions regarding the place it has in our public agenda.
I love these days that remind me why I find meaning in what I do.

Had an exciting visit this morning to the Temple mount with a special group 🤫

We got permission to enter some of the buildings that are not open to non Muslim visitors.

The Al Marwani mosque is the biggest in Israel and can hold 10,000 worshipers. It was built in the 90's in the lower level of arches, under the temple mount, where the crusaders called Solomons stables to the archway that was probably used during the second Temple period as the triple gate, one of the main entrance way to the temple Mt. for the many pilgrims who came to the temple.

Some of the stones still have the Herodian masonry marks on them, but probably are in second use as the southern part of the Plaza suffered over the years from many earthquakes and was rebuilt several times.

So many mysteries and unknown parts lay under the surface of this holy and special place.
I love that Jerusalem never stops surprising with new places for me to visit and learn 🤠 📙

Thank you for documentation
I was so into the story that I didn't take so many pics as I would love to

We took a break in the desert to get some quiet time.
I love this season, just before the rain, when the earth is so dry, but some flowers know it's about to come and are getting ready... 🌼🌸🪻

A great reminder for life. After the dry season there's rain that can wash all the dust away 🌧️

Had a few fun days of guiding a sweet family from Philly.
Yes, went to historic sites, tried out some archeology fun , learned about the modern day solutions for halacha at Tzomet and just had a chance to enjoy Israel

I also got to try out my new hat with my logo

Looking forward for more days like this...

What are people in talking about?
Look at what they post on the walls..
I'm trying to translate the idea

- The people of Israel are living *and kicking*

- I'm kidnapped and burnt
I'm the missing one, silenced, tearing and burieng.
I'm a shoe in a pile
Orphan doll
I'm a page in the story of a nation
Unbeaten flame of a memorial candle

- Even if you walk in the valley of the shadow of death
Fear no evil because you are an amazing nation

- and the land was Tohu vaVohu (emptiness and void/chaos)
And so am I

- And after it finished there was a clear silence
And I almost saw happiness join in tiny pieces to the daily moments

Wandering the streets of Jerusalem these days..
Sadness, hope, depression and encouraging words are all over the place, and so are we

I'm speaking this week at several Jewish communities in South Florida in commemoration of October 7th and the past year.
I've met so far with great friends of Israel and the Jewish people
Mayors, firefighters, rabbis and members of the Jewish and non Jewish communities here have all shown their great support in out darkest hours.

I came to share some of our experiences from the last year, the stories of heroes in Israel and thoughts about our past and future.
I told some people last night over dinner I feel like the bird from Bialiks song who carried the news from Eretz Yisrael to the Jews in the diaspora.. I feel great honor and responsibility in doing this

A few more talking events left until the end of this week. no tropical storm will stop us... Looking forward

One of our missions in the Kibbutzim, a few weeks into the war, was to try and save memories from homes that were destroyed and the families won't be able to come back.

In two homes I found these Be'eri newsletters. The dates are
October 7, 1973 - a day after the Yom Kippur war broke out and October 17, 1973, Simcaht Torah of that year.

50 years later, the same words apply - war, battles in the air and on the ground, bloodshed, these bitter scenes repeat.
An attack on Israel that caught us by surprise...

It was chilling to find it. What have we learned in the past 50 years? How will the next 50 years look like?

We have a chance to reshape our future here in Israel and the Middle East
I pray that we use this chance in the right way

October 7, 2023 VS October 7, 2024

We're in a totally different place.

While Israel got back on its feet and has hit back our enemies, many governments around the world have changed their tone.

I prefer live Jews without the worlds empathy then all the world empathy to dead Jews.

I was honored to join a mission last week, looking where they can help in developing and creating a better future for Israel
We visited the north and the south, we visited shelters and hospitals.
We met with people who were surprised we came to them out of all the people in Israel who need help in this time.

Despite the news, this group of incredible and generous people came to support Israel

It was a great honor!
Planting seeds of hope for Israel's future.
I also got to plant a tree at the Nova site. The Jewish people will be growing bigger and stronger!

Around the world people are already condemning this amazing Israeli rescue operation. 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱

Non of these people are thinking for one second to condemn Hamas. Look how much destruction you have brought upon your people!
Just release the hostages and finish with this, for the sake of your people!
They all know Hamas couldn't care less for the Palestinians but for themselves.

And just btw, an important reminder... The 4 hostages were rescued from private family homes.. Yes, those often referred to as 'uninvolved'.

Two weeks, two more missions.
Supporting, hugging, crying, laughing. Standing together. This is what family is all about
Some of places we visited this time were Hostage square, Netiv Ha'asara, Nachal Oz, Sderot, Netivot, and a very uplifting BBQ with Soldiers just before they go to war. That's what family is is all about

Two months ago I came out of Miluim (reserve duty) thinking I should prepare for long period of unemployment.
To my surprise, more or less since, I've been guiding different solidarity missions coming to bear witness, show support, volunteer with farmers, share the pain and hope of Israel and the Jewish people.

We've visited wounded soldiers and bereaved families, worked in the fields and aid distribution centers, celebrated bat mitzvah with girls evacuated from their homes and BBQ'd for soldiers in the field. We witnessed the destruction and atrocities as well as the resilience and big hug extended by the Jewish people and friends.

I can't express how grateful I am to be in my position and job.
Being able to experience all of this from first hand. To see not only the depth of darkness but also share the light.
To be part of the Israeli side but also walk alongside diaspora Jews as they pull their chair to the table and are adding their part to the story.
We're writing these days the latest chapter in the story of the Jewish people, and these solidarity missions and physical, and more important, spiritual support brought to us from the communities abroad is a powerful addition.

Everyone we meet, from soldiers in rehab who were severely injured, evacuated families in their modern day refugee camps in hotels, families waiting for their loved ones to return to all the heroes who were not born with a cape, but just stood up to the mission in front of them - they all feel me with pride and respect. They all show the spirit which isn't just words - Am Israel Chai

Like I say on the bus, we don't know how long this story is and what part of it we're at. Is this just the beginning? Did we get through the half? But we do know the unity that came out to shine and show the way.
We won't go back to October 6. What's seen can't be unseen anymore. On October 7 our enemies didn't distinguish right or left, religious or not. For them it was all about killing Jews and Israelis. We can't go back to October 6. We're in this together.

Thank you for letting me be part of your life
I feel like I'm in a huge group therapy we all need. And a big hug.

Nature has its own way of showing us.
The fields of blood have started to blossom. I'm not so sure what this makes me feel..
The pain is still present, the war is still on, the hostages are still not home and we're still waiting. But the flowers are growing out of the same ground, like every year at this time..
