We are very proud that the Giro d'Italia biking race is being held for the first time in Israel. This encouraged me to produce these short videos, highlighting landmarks in the Negev Desert along the route of Stage 3 ride from Beer Sheva to Eilat.My name is Dana Meir and I am a participant in the Mandel Social Leadership Program for the Negev, as well as a tour guide and biking instructor
I have developed an expertise in taking special groups on off road biking expeditions in the desert, using these challenges involved to help participants strengthen their determination, confidence, leadership qualities and life skills.The biking groups I work with include juvenile offenders, participants in drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs, women’s groups, and Bedouin youth.
I am passionate about the Negev Desert with its breathtaking combination of stark landscapes and natural beauty, and I believe that tourism is a significant factor in the future development of the Negev region.
I am also passionate about the value of connecting people through sport, and welcome any suggestions from people interested in sports events as a way to bring the diverse communities of the Negev together to celebrate the joy of sport.
