The transition in Israel from Yom HaZikaron to Yom HaAtzmaut is one that is hard to understand without experiencing it yourself. For 24 hours we mourn the lives of every fallen soldier, Arab, Bedouin, Christian, Druze, and Jewish, and the civilian victims of terror. Immediately after, we celebrate another year of Israel. Another year of unbreakable spirit and inspiration. The connection between Memorial Day and Independence Day is a true example of Israel’s resilience. #yomhaatzmaut #israel #visitisrael #yomhazikaron #memorialday #indpendenceday
Through many years of friendship forged over a shared passion for Israel and its food culture, Mike Solomonov and Adeena Sussman have enjoyed a never-ending culinary conversation about the place they love the most. Every year they canvas Israel from top to bottom, visiting the home cooks, chefs, purveyors, and markets whose traditions satisfy a shared hunger, deepening their understanding of Israeli food and the many influences that make it so uniquely delicious. This winter, from November 30 – December 8, join them on an eight-day feast for all the senses as they take you to meet the people, see the places, taste every dish, and experience the alluring spirit of Israel. The Pereh HotelThis unique hotel located in the Golan Heights offers a unique blend of history and elegance. But even more special than the amazing service, delicious food, and tranquil location is the history of the building itself. The buildings that house the Pereh Hotel were once French custom houses. After being neglected for years, they have taken on new life but not without tribute to their past. The Pereh puts emphasis on maintaining the history of the space. They have transformed a former Syrian bunker into an onsite museum. The hotel’s designers also used local materials to maintain a rustic and historic feel and helps create an atmosphere that is both relaxed and luxurious- a blend that is not easy to make but that The Pereh has mastered.
Last month, our team visited @rosh.habrosh on Kibbutz Amiad! Rosh HaBrosh offers workshops using recycled waste and natural materials to create beautiful sculptures. The workshops are creative, educational, and help reduce industrial waste by repurposing it into something new. In addition to their workshops on site, they also sell kits that allow you to bring the fun home with you!
You’ve probably heard of @naot_farm, but do you know the story behind it? Started in 2003, the farm has grown to be a favorite for locals and tourists alike. Leah and Gadi have put so much intention into the space and have truly created an oasis in the Negev. #negev #israel #visitisrael #israelifood #israelinstagram
