June 17, 2025 Follow-Up Travel Update - Ceasefire Announced

Shalom, dear friends and travel partners,

We are pleased to share this follow-up update from Sar-El Tours & Conferences with wonderful news.

🔹Ceasefire Declared

The war between Israel and Iran is over. Yesterday at 7 AM, it was announced by President Donald Trump that there is a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. So far, this ceasefire has been steady and holding strong.

🔹Israel Returns to Normal

Since this morning, Israel is fully back to normal. All schools, businesses, and public transportation are operating at 100% capacity. The airport has reopened for international flights.

🔹Travel Operations Resume

Today, it is expected that 12,000 passengers will pass through the airport. This number is expected to rise in the coming days as foreign airlines are returning. Seven airlines have already submitted requests yesterday to fly back to Israel, including Fly Dubai, Etihad, Ethiopian Airlines, and others. More are expected to do so in the coming days.

We are ready to welcome groups coming into Israel, both from the borders and from the airport. Our office is open again, and there is a sense of hope for the days ahead.

🔹Remembrance and Gratitude

Above all, we give thanks to God. We remember all the people who paid the highest price in this conflict. We also pray for the conflict in Gaza to end soon with lasting stability and a peaceful outcome. We pray for the families of soldiers who lost their lives.

We thank the IDF and also the United States of America for standing with Israel and for eliminating the threat from Iran.

🔹Looking Forward

We expect and pray this will lead to broader peace in the Middle East, with more countries joining the Abraham Accords.

17 June 2025 Travel Update - Recent Middle East Developments

Shalom, dear friends and travel partners,

This is an update from Sar-El Tours & Conferences regarding recent developments in the Middle East between Israel and Iran.

A few days ago, Israel, out of no choice, went in and attacked in Iran in order to guarantee Israel's future and safety and eliminate the uranium nuclear program. The operation so far is very successful.

However, we do face challenges as Iran is launching missiles towards Israel at nights. Most missiles are being intercepted on the way, but sadly, a few have hit their targets.

Please join us as we pray for Israel. We pray for our soldiers, and we pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Most of our groups have managed to get out of the country with our help, mainly through the land borders, which is still possible. We do have a few groups that chose to remain, and they are all safe in the hotels, still enjoying a peaceful atmosphere in peaceful areas. We are working on getting them out to the border when flights arranged.

For those groups who wish to come soon, we ask you to wait with these plans and postpone, but just by a bit. We will continue to update you as things develop.

We believe that as things will settle down - hopefully soon, by God's grace - we can continue planning. Now remains still the best time to plan. Things are quiet and slow, but we believe after this conflict ends, we will see a surge in bookings and demand. All those who wanted to visit Israel during the last 18 months will all want to come at once, so make sure you plan and book for the near future.

We are heartbroken by the devastating attack in Washington, D.C., that took the lives of Yaron Lischinsky and his beloved Sarah Milgrim.

Yaron and Sarah were Israeli Embassy staff members and a young couple planning their engagement. Yaron was the son of Daniel Lischinsky, one of Sar-El’s most dedicated tour guides, who has for many years and still is leading groups in English, Spanish, and German. Daniel is not only a colleague but a dear friend to many on our team.

Yaron and his family are strong believers in the God of Israel and have been an amazing testimony to the people of Israel.

This senseless act of violence struck while they were simply attending a young professionals event, looking forward to their future together and their shared commitment to serving their country.

In this time of grief, we ask you to join us in prayer for comfort and strength for their families and friends.

May their memory be a blessing. Our hearts are with all who knew and loved Yaron and Sarah.

This morning we at Sar-El remember and honor the life of the highly respected Christian teacher Kay Arthur who completed her earthly journey on May 20th. We cherish her memory as an extraordinarily kind, intelligent, and gifted Bible teacher whose materials were translated into Hebrew among many languages, blessing millions worldwide. Kay’s unique approach to Scripture study empowered countless people to discover deeper biblical insights on their own.

Susan and I had the privilege of meeting Kay during her numerous tours to Israel through our partners at Inspiration Travel. We were consistently moved by her profound love for God’s Word, her passionate commitment to Biblical education, and her genuine appreciation for the Land and people of Israel. During her tours, Kay brought the Scriptures to life at historical sites with remarkable creativity and depth. Everyone who traveled and studied with her was touched by her insightful teaching and personal care.

What stands out in our memories was Kay’s extraordinary ability to connect with individuals even amid crowds. She would intentionally seek out those traveling with her, hotel staff, or someone she hadn’t yet met. With genuine warmth, she would extend her hand, ask the person’s name, and express gratitude for their presence or service. Kay made the invisible visible, ensuring no one felt lost in the crowd. Her legacy as a distinguished Bible teacher and, more importantly, as a compassionate minister will endure for generations.

Susan and I extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kay for the love and unwavering support she shared with us throughout the years. Together with Uri, and the entire Sar-El Tours team in Israel, we are profoundly grateful for the privilege of serving on her tours and developing a meaningful relationship with her over time. She was a wonderful woman who loved Israel in a special and enlightened way, cherished the Scriptures, and considered it vitally important that people learn the word of the Lord.

A once-in-a-lifetime discovery at Shiloh ✨🏺

During a recent Sar-El Tours visit to Shiloh, one of our travelers, Juan from California, made an incredible discovery—an ancient Jewish coin buried for centuries beneath the earth. But Juan’s story doesn’t start here.

Four years ago, he and his wife visited Shiloh with a heartfelt prayer 🙏 They had been trying to have a child for 10 years without success. Just like Hannah in the Bible, who prayed at Shiloh for a son, Juan and his wife asked God for a miracle.

One year later, their daughter was born. 💖

Now, returning to Shiloh, Juan uncovered this 2,000-year-old coin from the reign of King Alexander Jannaeus, a Hasmonean ruler mentioned in Jewish history. The coin has been handed over to the Israel Antiquities Authority, helping to preserve another piece of biblical history.

For centuries, Shiloh has been a place of faith, prayer, and incredible archaeological discoveries—unearthing everything from Second Temple-era coins to city gates believed to be from the time of the High Priest Eli (1 Samuel 4).
