Why Hamas can’t come to my Sukkah + Bike-a-thon update +KWA 2025 Line Up


Shalom to all the nice people
Why do I safe sleeping outside in our Sukkah?
Because all my neighbors share my values. This is the same reason Hamas can’t come into our sukkah- because they have different values than we do. For example, we value life and they don’t. We do what we can to minimize collateral damage and they use people as human shields.
The message of Sukkot is that one day all people will share the same values and then it will be safe for everyone to sleep outside in their Sukkah.
This is also the reason why people love KWA. Because KWA participants share the same values of Frumkiet and Menchlakiet.

Bike-A-Thon Update
I am participating in the Alyn bike-a-thon to raise money to buy respiratory equipment for the children.
I started training at riding 18 kilometers and today I up to 35 kilometers. I need to get up to 50k by Nov. 11!

Kosher World Adventures Rosh Hashana Message

Post October 7, Charles Dickens best sums up our past year
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,
We all know why this year was the worst of times.
How was this year the best of times?
Because this was the year when the Jewish people were there for each other.
Together with other volunteers I spent last week in Kfar Aza refurbishing homes that were destroyed.
There I met un-sung heroes:
*Volunteers anywhere from 20-70+ are farming and guarding.
*Volunteers clearing out refrigerators that weren’t open for 8 months.
*Hydro-therapists, PDST therapists, Massage therapists
Everyone with an open heart. Helping and helping and helping.
*I also met individuals who didn’t cower on Oct, 7 yet took their handguns to the streets and shot back.
This past year was the worst of times yet it was also a year of inspiration.
Let us choose to walk into the new year with both the worst and the best of times.

Kosher World Adventures Two Responses to Hersh’s murder: Emotional and Actionable

Response Number One: Emotional -The Pitter Patter of Death

Here in Israel,
we feel the pitter patter of death.
There is a drop of death.
One drop.
Two.
Three.
More.
We know we can’t protect ourselves by grabbing a umbrella or running inside.
Pitter patter.
Death supersedes our ability to take action against the loss of our soldiers and hostages.
Pitter patter.

We go on, yet with terrible anguish.

My wife, Annette, last saw Hersh in June 2023 when he came in for a cleaning- She is a dental hygienist.
Annette just saw Hersh’s mother, last week. A tearful hug was shared before she got into the dental chair for her cleaning.
For 15 years Annette has treated Hersh’s family
And
for the past year
hovering over the treatment has been
the pitter patter of death.
Til today death has rained on others
and today on Hersh.
And on us.
With the hope that the it will stop raining death,
we continue to tearful hug each other.
