These photos were taken on October 7, 2023.
On my way driving to TLV to pick my new friends up from their hotel, just as I arrived I heard the red alert sirens ๐จ followed by 2 rockets falling in front of me.
After meeting up, still not knowing whatโs happening down south, we decided to leave the city and head to the Dead Sea as planned.
We started off with a quick visit to the Ein Gedi lower waterfall, drove another few minutes to Masada and by the time we got off the cable car on the top of the mountain, I saw the really bad news, that Hamas terrorists had crossed the Gaza border and started an attack. Still not really understanding the scale of what was happening I recommended to my customers we stop the tour at this point, skip the dip in the Dead Sea and get them back to their hotel so they could get organised and possibly manage to make it out of the country that same day.
On October 7 Hamas terrorists started the biggest terrorist attack ever, killing hundreds of Israeli citizens including babies, children, women, men and elderly.
Hundreds of soldiers and policemen have died in the war protecting the country since the attack started over a year ago.
255 Israeli hostages were kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip that day. 101 are still being held there today waiting to be rescued.
Hoping for better days to come soon โ๏ธ
Hoping for the return of all the hostages ๐
Hoping for all the thousands of evacuated Israeli families along the Lebanon and Gaza border to return to their homes. ๐ก
Hoping to see tourism come back again once the war is over, then hopefully Iโll be able to go back to do what I love the most - being a full time Tourguide ๐ค
