Traveling in the coronavirus age has its challenges, but there are still safe ways to travel. Here are all our tips for enjoying a safe vacation in Tel Aviv.
If there’s one thing the world has learned about living with COVID19 it’s that socially, the outdoors is generally safer than indoors and in Tel Aviv, there are plenty of outdoor family activities that will allow you to keep a social distance. Here are a few ideas.
The sound of birds chirping, the cooling shade of trees and a small and inviting café will all welcome you as you enter Beresh*t Forest in Yarkon Park. There, surrounded by trees, there is a facility that will get your adrenaline pumping with high rope courses suitable for various ages, as well as 120 climbing elements. You can also get on the zipline or the giant swing and enjoy other aerial activities.
2. Sailing on the Yarkon River
There’s nothing better than water activities in the heat of summer, right? Sure, you can go to one of the many beaches in the city, but if you feel like taking a break from the salty water and enjoying some sweet ones, you should try sailing on the Yarkon River or the man made lake that’s in the heart of Yarkon Park.
You can choose either a pedal boat or a motor boat in various sizes, while opening hours are between 9:30am and 7:00pm.
3. Cycling to explore the city
There’s nothing simpler than renting a bicycle from one of the numerous Tel-O-Fun locations spread around Tel Aviv and exploring the city while riding. You can cycle through the streets or head to one of the city’s popular locations, such as the Tel Aviv Port, Jaffa Port or Yarkon Park. In case you opt for the park, we highly recommend you take a picnic basket with you so you can enjoy it in a quiet, shady and serene spot.
Indoors is still a viable option
The israeli summer is hot, so if you prefer spending some time in air conditioned spaces, you can do so safely in any one of the museums, galleries and exhibitions that operate under the Purple Badge Safety Instructions. Since the number of visitors allowed at any given time is limited, it’s advisable to contact the museum or gallery before your visit.
A home away from homeIf
there ever was the perfect time to find a hotel that allows you to enjoy the home away from home experience, that time is now. Since we are all required to keep a social distance even while we’re on vacation in light of the novel Coronavirus pandemic, choosing an accommodation that also has a fully equipped kitchen can help you minimize your social exposure.
If the kitchen is your favorite space, you can get some groceries and continue to enjoy cooking even when you’re away. But even if you’re more than happy to forget about mundane tasks such as cooking during your time off, you can still benefit from having a kitchen.
Just order a delivery from one of the many excellent restaurants in Tel Aviv and have your meal in a quiet, safe and intimate environment with proper eating utensils. And since we’re on the topic of food, we would like to take this opportunity to mention that we now offer our guests a fresh breakfast spread, safely prepared and delivered to your apartment. Just make sure to order it in advance.
