Our spacious home features a private pool, modern kitchen, and comfortable living spaces perfect for families or groups. Continuing our weekly tips series, I’ve noticed a lot of discussions about shadow banning and people losing ranking for their listings. Let’s dive into this topic today.

"Shadow banned" is a term often used on social media platforms when your posts aren't seen by all your followers. In SEO, when a search engine pushes your digital asset down the ranks, it's called rank suppression.

Since Airbnb uses algorithms and search engines, your listing might experience rank suppression. If you notice your listing dropping in rank, here are a few things you can do:

1. Revamp Descriptions: A complete overhaul of your descriptions, including the title, summary, full "Your Property" section, and neighborhood description, can make a significant difference. Update these items every 3-4 months. Some hosts even update their titles and photo order daily to trigger the algorithm. If you need help with this, feel free to send me a private message. I’ve helped hundreds of listings with full optimization or revamping a previous optimization to give the algorithm a boost.

2. Update Images: Invest in professional images if you haven't done so already. Airbnb uses AI to detect high-quality images, and the first 5 images are crucial as they are featured on a desktop view. Consider changing the photo order occasionally. High-quality photos can dramatically improve your listing’s appeal.

3. Complete Your Profile: Make sure all the spaces Airbnb gives you to fill in are complete. This includes updating your profile information and ensuring everything is accurate and up-to-date. Don’t forget to include details about guest interaction, property access, and other essential information.

4. Adjust Pricing: Drop your prices temporarily for the coming two months and create promotions to generate new bookings and reviews. Look at competition prices for the next couple of months and make sure you are priced competitively. This can help boost your listing’s activity and rank.

By revamping your listing, updating images, running promotions, and accumulating bookings and reviews, you'll create a positive momentum that can help restore your listing to the first pages.

I'm excited to kick off our weekly tips series with one of the most crucial aspects of your Airbnb listing – the title! Crafting a catchy and informative title can make a huge difference in attracting potential guests. Here are some key points to consider:

1. Understand the Display: When someone is searching, the title you craft is actually a subtitle, as they first see "Farm stay in Montgomery" in bold, with your title right underneath.
2. Skip the House Name: Avoid adding the house name in the title, since there's little chance that someone knows your brand. Concentrate on features, as your title is actually a subtitle.
3. Remember the Character Limit: You only have 50 characters to work with, and sometimes only 41 characters are actually shown in search results. Make every word count!
4. Highlight Unique Features: Mention what sets your property apart, like a spa pool, proximity to downtown, or a farmhouse table.
5. Be Specific: Include details that give a clear idea of what guests can expect, like a special amenity or unique feature.
6. Use Keywords: Think about what guests might be searching for and include those terms.
7. Avoid Clichés: Words like "perfect" or "luxury" are overused and can sound insincere. Focus on what truly makes your place unique.

- "Near Beaches & Downtown - Charming 3-Bed"
- "Saltwater Pool, Rooftop Lounge - Modern Loft"
