What more can I ask for?

Dear Allen:
What a fabulous trip! This was the best one of my life. You are so knowledgeable and fun to be with.
I understand now what it is to live in a Jewish State and make the commitment to be PROUD and learned of your Jewish heritage. I never see this kind of Jewish love or commitment in NY. And yes I know what you mean about dedicating yourself to being "really Jewish" by living in the Holy Land. If I were younger and had the opportunity I would have chosen a life on the kibbutz as that lifestyle is very appealing to me.
You were able to show us how Christianity and Judaism interchanged in Jesus' time. You showed us the commonalities of the religions rather then the differences. If only everyone did this it would bring us together and not divide.
You are a special person and it shows. (I already told the Smart Tours have wonderful you are.)
If you are coming to NY let me know and we can "break bread" at our Jewish delis even though not as good as Israel. I would love to hear from you.
P.S. I got a good Israeli cookbook and am making several of the salads and meats. I love the food!

What does a tour guide do when he needs a rest from a very eventful week?
After a week of great tours, meting wonderful people from around the world-
I took the family on an educational trip to the Lower Galilee!
Quality time and a nice picnic are all i needed to re-charge.
Ready for another week!

Small country, Loads & loads to see!

About 1200 square kilometres, loaded with beauty and history. A piece of land well worth visiting.

Spent a few hours this morning, at the museum (In fact, a heritage site) for the Jewish underground soldiers who fought against the British mandate which governed the state to be for 30 years (1918-1948).
They where also the beginning and foundation for the IDF- Israel Defens Forces to come.

Many of them were caught in action. Anything from posting bulletins on the streets (Facebook wasn't here yet...) to actual use of weapons was punishable: even death sentences were rendered!

at this jail house, the origin of which is a 19th century Russian women pilgrim dormitory, many of these young men and women spent their best years.

Two of them took their own life, hours before being hung: death by their own hands was better to them then allowing was they perceived as an illegal act by an interim governor of the land.

Among us today was also the 95 year old (then a young man of 24!) soldier, who prepared the explosive device that Moshe Barazani and Meir Feinstein used on the morning of April 21, 1947, both only 20 years old!

This heritage site holds many more stories, that are waiting to be told!

Jerusalem, there is always something new to see, more to talk about. Spent a day with guests from Singapore- They are the lion country- visited the lion city...
Great time spent trying to get a feel of what this city is about in a very short time. But, better short than nothing I guess.
Always eager to show this magnificent city, especially to "first timers"!

What a way to end a day! Here is a review posted on my Google page:

"My first trip to Israel was an amazing experience, thanks in large part to our tour guide, Allen. The depth and range of his knowledge is unbelievable. After spending five days with Allen, we gained an in-depth understanding of Israel's past and current history as well as a deeper understanding of many of the religious histories in the area. No question went unanswered, and Allen handled all of them with respect and humor (his wit is awesome!)."

This is really what being a tour guide is to me!

אתמול בגשם נעים ומזג אויר מזמין טיילנו בנחל מערה-מערת התאומים. היה נהדר!
Twins cave hike with the little ones on a surprising rainy day. It was fun!

סיור משפחות בפארק בריטניה. שחעורית מזדמנת קפאה כאילו מתה- וחזרה לחיים כשהנחתי אותה ארצה. הילדים התלהבו כל כך! פגשנו גם את דם המכבים וקישרנו אותו לאקטואליה, כמו גם את הייעור כעבודה יזומה- ומה היו המעברות!
קהל צעיר וסקרן, היה מהנה!
