The Itmad-ud-Daula Tomb is a Mughal mausoleum located in the city of Agra, India. It was commissioned by Nur Jahan, the wife of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, in memory of her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg. The tomb was completed in 1628 and is considered to be one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture.

The tomb is built entirely of white marble and is set in a large garden on the banks of the Yamuna River. It is often referred to as the “Baby Taj” due to its resemblance to the Taj Mahal, which was built later by Nur Jahan’s stepson, Shah Jahan.

The tomb complex consists of a main tomb chamber surrounded by four smaller chambers, all of which are intricately decorated with inlaid stone and marble work, as well as delicate carvings and filigree designs. The tomb is topped by a white marble dome, which is surrounded by four smaller domes.

Visitors to the Itmad-ud-Daula Tomb can enjoy the peaceful gardens and take in the stunning views of the river and surrounding landscape. It is a popular tourist attraction in Agra and is often included on tours of the city’s famous Mughal monuments, including the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

GWALIOR. C'est une grande ville indienne dans l'état du Madhya Pradesh. Son fort rst bâti sur une plateforme rocheuse surplombant la ville. Elle mesure 2,4 km dans sa plus grande longueur et 820 m dans sa plus grande largeur. On y accède par une forte pente bordée d'excavations où sont sculptés des "tirtankara " (prophètes) jaïns. La citadelle, à laquelle nous nous consacrerons essentiellement aujourd'hui, est bâtie en pierres jaunes ornées de carreaux de terre vernissés comportant des décors animaliers. Le palais (Man Mandir) construit par Man Singh (1486-1516) n'a cessé d'être agrandi dès la fin de sa construction et jusqu'au 17° siècle, notamment par les empereurs moghoms Jahangir et Shah Jahan

The tomb of Akbar the Great, located in Sikandra, in the suburbs of Agra is an important Mughal architectural masterpiece, which was built between 1605-1613.

Akbar himself commenced the construction of this tomb, according to Tartary tradition, which stated to commence the construction of one’s tomb during one’s lifetime.

The South gate of this tomb is the largest with four white marble chhatri-topped minarets, similar to those of the Taj Mahal. The buildings are constructed mainly from deep red sandstone.

An inscription on the mausoleum reads: ‘These are the Gardens of Eden: enter them to dwell eternally.’ This historical monument’s beauty cannot be justified in words and one has to visit this place to actually witness it.
