A small village named Kuldhara is located about 18 kilometers from Jaisalmer. It is said that around 1291, rich and hardworking Paliwal Brahmins settled this village of 600 houses. It is also believed that there were 84 villages around Kuldhara and only Paliwal Brahmins used to live in all of them.

The community of Paliwal Brahmins generally depended on agriculture and cattle rearing. The layer of gypsum prevented the rain water from getting absorbed in the ground and the Paliwal Brahmins used to irrigate their fields with this water.

But what happened that the people of 84 villages, who were happy and cheerful, were suddenly forced to leave their homes, houses, farming, everything in just one night? The mysterious story of Kuldhara is related to this question, which is allegedly related to curses and evil spirits.

The Paliwal Brahmins, who were living a happy life, fell under the evil eye of the Diwan Salam Singh there. Salam Singh liked a Brahmin girl and he started trying to get her by making every possible effort.

When all his efforts failed, Salam Singh threatened the villagers that either they should hand over the girl to him by the full moon day or he would kidnap her himself.

The villagers were faced with the challenge of saving the honor of a girl. If they wanted, they could have saved their home by sacrificing the girl but they chose another path.

One night all the Brahmins of 84 villages sat together and decided that they would vacate this village overnight but would not let anything happen to that girl. All the surrounding villages including Kuldhara were vacated in just one night. While leaving, they cursed this village that no one would be able to settle in this place, whoever comes here will be ruined.

That curse is following the deserted and barren land of Kuldhara till date. That is why whoever dared to live in those houses or settle in that place was ruined.
Believing the curse on this place as fabricated, many people came here but whoever stayed here for a night could never go back. No one could find even a trace of it.
Let us tell you that with changing times, 82 villages were rebuilt, but two villages Kuldhara and Khabha have not been inhabited even after many efforts. These villages are now under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India, which are opened daily for tourists in daylight.

Custodians of beliefs of more than a billion people: the holy places of India cross the boundaries of time to sanctify the lives around them.
If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions, I should point to India” -Max Mueller, German scholar
India has been praised by some of the great people who have lived on the Earth. The evidence of Indian civilization can be traced back to thousands of years. No other place can vouch for the sort of diversity, which fills every nook and cranny of this incredible country. The various religions, languages, dialects, traditions and customs provide many facets of the majestic country called India.
The geographic land of India has several marks of faith spread all across its length and breadth. Certain structures have several centuries of devotion backing them, granting more authenticity and reverence.
“India has two million gods, and worships them all. In religion all other countries are paupers; India is the only millionaire.” – Mark Twain (American author)
Indian religions, especially Hindu faith, offer numerous Gods and Goddesses to seek blessings from. Below is a list of 30 famous pilgrimage places in India, which stand gloriously, pouring blessings over the mankind:

History of Therapy
An Ayurvedic treatment primarily comprises of two parts namely, Samshodhana ( -cleansing therapy) and Samshaman Chikitsa (Pacifying Therapy). Panchakarma therapy falls under the first category as it is a dynamic procedure to cleanse the body from inside out. It is a bio-cleansing regimen which is intended to balance the morbid doshas and eliminate the toxic elements found in the body. It is a comprehensive procedure that helps improve the of the body. When we speak of the history of this five-step therapy we mean its existence in the world as an extensive form of an therapy. Chikitsa is considered to be superior to Samshaman Chikitsa as the benefits acquired in terms of the elimination of the diseases are permanent and long-lasting.
Processes Involved in Cleansing
As mentioned earlier, Panchakarma therapy is a five-step process for the body to get cleansed inside out. These five steps can be considered to be the stepping stones for complete attainment of a healthy and a purified body. This therapy is believed to impart radical elimination of the disease causing factors and maintain an equilibrium among the doshas that govern our body. Following are the five processes that helps improve the immunity and cleanses the body.
Vamana
Virechana
Basti
Nasya
Raktamokshan
Let us understand each one in detail-
- It is an oleation procedure where the patient is given Ayurvedic therapies and internal medication. This helps in vomiting and elimination of the toxins thus disposing the poisons from the body.
- This procedure includes the cleansing of the toxins through the bowels. The patient is asked to consume Ayurvedic medicines and go for a natural purgative method thus clearing the guts that aides in purifying the body or toxins.
- Ayurvedic therapy through medicines or natural decoctions, such as oils, ghee or milk through e***a is known as basti. The decoctions depend on the disease that needs to be cured. It has huge advantages and is powerful against diseases like piles, constipation and arthritis.
- People suffering from issues that target the head area, this Ayurvedic therapy is the best. It is a natural cleansing technique where the cerebral area gets freed from any kind of pain and nasal drops are regulated in the nostrils.
: Lastly, this process is done for cleaning the blood. As we know that impure blood is a major cause of any diseases, so this therapy allows for the purification of the blood thus getting rid of health issues like psoriasis, pigmentation, dermatitis and many more.
This is how Panchakarma therapy is given to a patient step by step which delivers excellent effective results thus improving and enhancing the longevity of the human body.

Why one should opt for this treatment?
Survival of the fittest strategy brings in a lot of factors that combine together to improve as well as deteriorate the condition of the human body. Continuous labor, wear and tear of the body tissues, negligence of the functioning parts, improper eating habits, all merged together, hampers the normal functioning of the body.
Timely cleansing should be done so that the body which acquires a lot of impurities and toxins while maintaining its functions can be eliminated. If these are not eliminated from the body at the right time then it becomes a cause for the diseases that we often hear about. Panchakarma should be done yearly because of the fact that its effects are long-lasting and not temporary and helps to kill the root cause of the disease. This treatment at Kairali-The Ayurvedic Healing Village is the best as it takes into consideration the overall transformation of the human body, starting from following a strict Ayurvedic diet to managing and adopting healthy lifestyle choices.

BENEFITS OF THE THERAPY
If we try to enlist the benefits of an Ayurvedic therapy, we will always fall short of it because there are endless benefits that one cannot even imagine about. But specifically speaking, Panchakarma at Kairali-The Ayurvedic Healing Village has lots to offer to its clients with its standardized procedure.
Purification of the Body and Soul: Through the information given above it is clear by now that this therapy is the ultimate solution to get rid of all impurities and toxins from the body and thus purify the mind, body and soul. It helps to maintain a balance between all the three doshas that are responsible for governing our body.
Basis for Complete Well-Being: Kairali-The Ayurvedic Healing Village caters to the complete well-being of an individual with the help of its Ayurvedic therapies and treatments. The beautiful serene atmosphere serves as a healing factor that restores the natural beauty that is found within everyone. Panchakarma therapy is one of the finest ways to achieve a healthy and stress-free body.
Balancing the vitiated doshas: As per Ayurveda, doshas are the main governing factors of the human body. It is due to the imbalances in these doshas that our body sometimes responds in an abnormal way and we fall prey to various kinds of ailments. Panchakarma therapy thus helps to restore the balance between the doshas for proper functioning of the body.
-The Ayurvedic Healing Village, set amidst the beautiful creations of nature thus provides for the best Ayurvedic treatments and accommodation facilities that one longs for to achieve the optimum level of health and well-being.
Panchakarma- panch and karmas, when literally translated means ‘Five Procedures’. It is an Ayurvedic treatment that involves elaborated methods of purification to release stress, which prepares the body tissues to accept the maximum benefits of food, nutrition and exercise. It is a three-stage process purva (pre-operative), pradhana (operative) and paschat (post-operative) measures. Ayurveda advises to practice Purvakarma because of the deep rooted imbalances in the body, which needs to be flushed out in the right way by Purvakarma.
To undergo a purification therapy it is highly important for the body to be prepared for the rigorous process to encourage the body to let go of the toxins. treatments like Abhyangam, shirodhara and Elakizhi are included to soften the tissues where the oil is applied to the entire body with a particular type of massage which helps the toxins to move towards the gastro-intestinal tract. thereafter, therapies like Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya and Raktamokshan are used as per the body constitution (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) to complete the detoxifying process.

Design and Construction of the Taj Mahal

Named the Taj Mahal in honor of Mumtaz Mahal, the mausoleum was constructed of white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones (including jade, crystal, lapis lazuli, amethyst and turquoise) forming intricate designs in a technique known as pietra dura. Its central dome reached a height of 240 feet (73 meters) and was surrounded by four smaller domes; four slender towers, or minarets, stood at the corners. In accordance with Islamic tradition, verses from the Quran were inscribed in calligraphy on the arched entrances to the mausoleum, in addition to numerous other sections of the complex. Inside the mausoleum, an octagonal marble chamber adorned with carvings and semi-precious stones housed the cenotaph, or false tomb, of Mumtaz Mahal. The real sarcophagus containing her actual remains lay below, at garden level.

The rest of the Taj Mahal complex included a main gateway of red sandstone and a square garden divided into quarters by long pools of water, as well as a red sandstone mosque and an identical building called a jawab (or “mirror”) directly across from the mosque. Traditional Mughal building practice would allow no future alterations to be made to the complex. As the story goes, Shah Jahan intended to build a second grand mausoleum across the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal, where his own remains would be buried when he died; the two structures were to have been connected by a bridge. In fact, Aurangzeb (Shah Jahan’s third son with Mumtaz Mahal) deposed his ailing father in 1658 and took power himself. Shah Jahan lived out the last years of his life under house arrest in a tower of the Red Fort at Agra, with a view of the majestic resting place he had constructed for his wife; when he died in 1666, he was buried next to her.

Pushkar Tourism At A Glance

The city of Pushkar assumes subtle grandeur given the rare temples of Lord Brahma, a camel festival and a legend it owes its existence to.

Pushkar is one of the oldest cities of India and is one of the five sacred dhams for devout Hindus. It has one of the very few existing devoted temples to Lord Brahma. Pushkar is also famous for its annual Pushkar Camel Fair, held in the month of November. This is one of very few places in Rajasthan you would find which isn't famous because of a fort. This holy city attracts tourists from far and wide for its many temples. Even though Pushkar is a deeply religious destination, it has become a hipster's paradise in the last few years. A number of cafes with a relaxed and chilled out vibe serve delicious, authentic vegetarian Indian food, and you can sit and observe the life in small-town rural India, and appreciate Hindu religious traditions. However, one has to be a little sensitive towards the its religious and spiritual significance, respect local norms and keep from consuming meat products or liquor in and a little around Pushkar.

Humayun died in 1556, and his widow Hamida Banu Begam, also known as Haji Begam, commenced the construction of his tomb ...
09/11/2016

Humayun died in 1556, and his widow Hamida Banu Begam, also known as Haji Begam, commenced the construction of his tomb in 1569, fourteen years after his death. It is the first distinct example of proper Mughal style, which was inspired by Persian architecture. It is well known that Humayun picked up the principles of Persian architecture during his exile, and he himself is likely to have planned the tomb, although there is no record to that effect. The tomb was constructed at a cost of 15 lakh rupees (1.5 million).

Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian, was the architect employed by Haji Begam for this tomb.

The tomb proper stands in the centre of a square garden, divided into four main parterres by causeways (charbagh), in the centre of which ran shallow water-channels. The high rubble built enclosure is entered through two lofty double-storeyed gateways on the west and south. A baradari (pavilion) occupies the centre of the eastern wall and a hammam (bath chamber) in the centre of northern wall.

The square red sandstone double-storeyed structure of the mausoleum with chamfered corners rises from a 7-m. high square terrace, raised over a series of cells, which are accessible through, arches on each side. The grave proper in the centre of this cell-complex is reached by a passage on the south. The octagonal central chamber contains the cenotaph, and the diagonal sides lead to corner-chambers which house the graves of other members of the royal family. Externally each side of the tomb, its elevations decorated by marble borders and panels, is dominated by three arched alcoves, the central one being the highest. Over the roof pillared kiosks are disposed around the high emphatic double dome in the centre. The central octagonal chamber contains the cenotaph, encompassed by octagonal chambers at the diagonals and arched lobbies on the sides. Their openings are closed with perforated screens. Each side is dominated by three arches, the central one being the highest. This plan is repeated on the second storey too. The roof surmounted by a double dome (42.5m) of marble has pillared kiosks (chhatris) placed around it.

The mausoleum is a synthesis of Persian architecture and Indian traditions-the former exemplified by the arched alcoves, corridors and the high double dome, and the latter by the kiosks, which give it a pyramidal outline from distance. Although Sikandar Lodi's tomb was the first garden-tomb to be built in India, it is Humayun's tomb which set up a new vogue, the crowning achievement of which is the Taj at Agra. There is also a somewhat common human impetus behind these two edifices-one erected by a devoted wife for her husband and the other by an equally or more devoted husband for his wife.

Several rulers of the Mughal dynasty lie buried here. Bahadur Shah Zafar had taken refuge in this tomb with three princes during the first war of Independence (AD 1857).

On the southwestern side of the tomb is located barber's tomb (Nai-ka-Gumbad) which stands on a raised platform, reached by seven steps from the south. The building is square on plan and consists of a single compartment covered with a double-dome.
