THINGS PEOPLE LEARN TOO LATE IN LIFE:
1. Everything is temporary
We are not on earth eternally. We are just passengers until our time is up.
Your possessions, job, and relationships will one day be a
distant memory.
This is why you should live a meaningful life. At some point, you will be gone and forgotten.
2. Life is not fair
You have privileges that others don't and vice versa
You expect a promotion, but the job is given to someone less experienced or smart than you. This is the way of life.
Just because you think you deserve something, doesn't mean you're going to get it.
3. Family matters more than friends
Friends are great, but there is nothing like your family. Make your family a priority.
Talk to your parents and siblings as time is not on your side.
Spend time with your kids. They need you more than anything else.
4. Sacrificing today will pay tomorrow
Many people get old and regret their decisions when they were young.
Make the right decisions today to secure your future and not live with regrets.
Prioritizing your finances and physical and mental health will pay
dividends.
5. Happiness is a choice and requires work
Validation from others won't make you happy.
Happiness is experienced by yourself because your reality is in tune with your expectations.
You need to put some effort into it. Anything worth pursuing won't happen by itself.
6. The present moment is your moment
Most people learn of the importance of the moment too late in life and miss many opportunities to seize it.
Do not dwell in the past or even focus on the future.
Live in the moment and enjoy fully your time.
7. Everyone is really out for themselves
Everyone is the hero in their own movie. Everyone puts their own interests first.
No one will look for you before they look out for themselves first.
Once you get this, you will understand how some people
behave a certain way.
8. The world is bigger than you got to experience
There are 7 billion people out there with different cultures, cuisines, and beliefs.
Step outside of your comfort zone and learn about the world.
The world is like a book. It would be a shame to only read a couple of pages
